Thanks is there a way to get a chart of new cases just for South Korea..

I see the world wide new case drop. Debating how good that Chart is since shows all countries except the USA (USA just now getting ready to test).

I think if South Korea has a drop in new cases, we need to follow their example on how to slow down the spread here.

Italy I have no clue about the high death rate..

Yep. What I want. I’ve built some raised beds grow organic heirloom veggies—but right in prime NYC suburbia, next door to the Westchester County coronavirus epicenter. I don’t think summer can come fast enough for us.

Yep.

Cruise lines and long flights aren’t usually put on State Dept/CDC travel warning....over the flu.

Fauci saying older people shouldn’t get on an airplane.

Gottleib saying we’re going to have a ‘tough next two months’.

All, for just the ‘regular flu’?

They pulled fiber cable when they put in our phone/dsl but said don’t expect it to be operational for many years to come.

That would be nice, but I see some errors in their reporting.

From the Article
“Worldwide, there have been about 3,400 coronavirus deaths, out of about 100,000 identified cases. Flu, by comparison, grimly reaps about 291,000 to 646,000 annually.”

3400 of 100,000 is 3.4%. The Flu rate is 0.1% according to the CDC. Also the 3.4% includes bad data that includes data from China. I think President Trump is right the death rate will be lower then 3.4%.

I trust the South Korea data over all countries report.
South Korea has tested well over 150000 people. Today the total confirm cases is 7478 with 53 deaths. That is a 0.7% rate. 0.7% is worse then the Flu rate of 0.1%.

Going by South Korea numbers I expect the rate for the USA to be between 0.3 to 0.6% depending on how the USA CDC and local governments responds. Could be as low as 0.2 but I have my doubts on how the big cities will respond

Yes the virus is not going to kill everybody, it will be mainly people who have heath conditions and the senior citizens just like the flu.

That’s been my biggest point - there is no clarity. The country wants clarity - even if the answer is “we don’t know yet”.

Limits on cleaning products started here last week. Including.... cream cheese. Our store sells 3 brands of cream cheese and 2 have limits. One brand has had limits for weeks and last week the store brand also had limits. But buy all the Philly you want. All three made in the USA.
Crazy.

Great points and they've been re-iterated here. South Korea has the best data set. 0.7% is where i think this will settle. that's 7x of the flu.

I don't think countries are disrupting their economies and ways of life simply to "get Trump."

No one likes a "sky is falling and we're all going to die" magpie and i don't see any of those folks. I do see a bunch of us, ALL Trump supporters raising concern and rightly saying - this is going to be disruptive and impactful and we should be preparing for it.

Thanks for your post.

Badboo, that is great that they ran the fiber optics, out your way.

When we visit our family, at a remote ranch, it is a slow DSL.

Better than nothing, but...not like what we have at the house.

McDonald's cancels their worldwide convention. this is a massive deal - essentially 30,000 operators from across the world come to discuss and plan the next two years of rollouts at every location.

NY

The number of coronavirus cases in the tri-state area surged by 200 percent since Friday — from 49 cases to more than 140 — and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Executive Director Rick Cotton is among the new patients, government officials said Monday.

The updated total includes new cases in Westchester County, New York City, including the first two in Brooklyn, Nassau County and Rockland County, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday. He also confirmed Cotton was among the new positives and said he would be working from home. See the latest case count breakdown here.
