That would be nice, but I see some errors in their reporting.

From the Article
“Worldwide, there have been about 3,400 coronavirus deaths, out of about 100,000 identified cases. Flu, by comparison, grimly reaps about 291,000 to 646,000 annually.”

3400 of 100,000 is 3.4%. The Flu rate is 0.1% according to the CDC. Also the 3.4% includes bad data that includes data from China. I think President Trump is right the death rate will be lower then 3.4%.

I trust the South Korea data over all countries report.
South Korea has tested well over 150000 people. Today the total confirm cases is 7478 with 53 deaths. That is a 0.7% rate. 0.7% is worse then the Flu rate of 0.1%.

Going by South Korea numbers I expect the rate for the USA to be between 0.3 to 0.6% depending on how the USA CDC and local governments responds. Could be as low as 0.2 but I have my doubts on how the big cities will respond

Yes the virus is not going to kill everybody, it will be mainly people who have heath conditions and the senior citizens just like the flu.

Great points and they've been re-iterated here. South Korea has the best data set. 0.7% is where i think this will settle. that's 7x of the flu.

I don't think countries are disrupting their economies and ways of life simply to "get Trump."

No one likes a "sky is falling and we're all going to die" magpie and i don't see any of those folks. I do see a bunch of us, ALL Trump supporters raising concern and rightly saying - this is going to be disruptive and impactful and we should be preparing for it.

Thanks for your post.

Why do you think the data from China inflates the mortality rate? Reports from in side Wuhan assert that the death rate is much higher than what has been reported from there.

You are right to trust the S. Korea numbers most, but why do you think the US numbers will be better? And how are you allocating the unresolved cases? We cannot assume they will all survive and that will only bring that 0.7% rate up.

I also don’t grasp the idea that this only kills elderly/compromised people somehow makes it more acceptable.
