Continuation of the thread.
For example: MD Anderson Cancer Center screening patients and visitors because cancer patients are uniquely vulnerable to Wuhan virus (and a whole lot of other things...) because they're immune system compromised is certainly a reasonable precaution. Pearl Jam cancelling a concert (to me..) is a response based out of fear.
I say this as someone who was informed yesterday the entire company of over 18,000 individuals spread out over 3 continents is working from home until April 1st.
A complete over-reaction on my employers part IMO. I freaking hate it. Getting anything done already this morning is proving to be an exercise in futility.
It needs to be erected out in the sunlight. Ok, so Seattle rains but still.
Ground zero. At least you got the milder S-CoV in that region. Might not kill ya. Good luck.
A Chinese bot told him.
We'll disagree. Don't go where potentially dangerous mammals are and there would not be a problem, unless you're clearing an area for development. Don't eat mammals which can carry disease unless you properly prepare them.
Inbreeding of infected animals is a disaster on slow burn waiting for the slightest breeze. China has stated that the worlds animals are a resource for the Chinese people to exploit, endangered they dont care. If they dont clean up their act and start thinking about disease prevention at an IQ level above 80, there wont be many food sources left to exploit - by anyone. The world cant help but cringe every time they have another outbreak of bird flu or swine fever, which are more and more frequent and more and more lied about and covered up. But the environuts are nowhere to be found when it comes to pressuring the CCP
And please cite a source that inbreeding, specially a higher inbreeding coefficient is the cause for a disease outbreak.
Good hygiene, functioning sewer systems, and knowing what not to eat if not properly prepared would go a long way in helping to reduce disease outbreak.
“The CBC cannot make a determination of the effectiveness of a product in fighting pathogens like COVID-19”
Household cleaning products. Saw that, too. Makes you think CDC don’t know jack.

It’s not hand sanitizer but a substitue for regular liquid hand soap is to fill small pump bottles with half dish detergent and half water. Keep a bottle of higher percent alcohol in every bathroom and your desk. Get some hand lotion so your hands don’t dry out too much.
Put together and place a box of cleaning products in each bathroom and bedroom, especially in those you’ve dedicated as self isolation rooms. The more you prepare those areas now, the less you have to worry and forget things if the time comes. Seeing the box on a counter will remind the family to wash their hands.
Disinfect all deliveries and let them stay outside for several days before bringing them into your house. Careful of inside the box, too. I just had an order come in from WA near the hot zone.
It probably has less to do with HR than some beancounter figuring up how much it would cost for X% of you to be in the ICU for 2 or 3 weeks and on medical leave for another month or two.
Million dollar ICU bills scare everyone...
Bookmarked!
Why do we need a gel thickener for hand sanitizer?
Not good.
million masks stockpiled by Canada for a rainy day...are expired
Most "expired" dates are to get you to buy more when it isn't necessary. Fine, send the masks to me. If any elastic is rotting and falling apart (which is highly, highly, highly doubtful), I'll sew new elastic on which Canada could do easily. Seriously, Canada, use them and don't put more of a strain on the world's shortage.
China’s locust problem was posted what seems like many moons ago.
We got a stream of calls for a couple of hours yesterday. Bam, bam, bam. One after the other. We came close to disconnecting the phone there were so many. One even used a local government ID’d number. I don’t answer but hubby did a couple just to mess with them.
POTUS looked like he was going in for a root canal. He definitely did not want to be there, cut it short and zipped out as fast as he could.
The Palmolive “Essential” dishwashing liquid makes great hand soap for those little pump dispensers. I use it “straight up”. (Undiluted) Just a little dab ‘ll do ya, and wash with some medium running water. Palmolive is good about not drying out hands, so you don’t have to waste time* “working in” the hand lotion. (I do still sometimes use hand lotion B4 going to bed, but that’s usually because during the day I had repeat episodes of needing to wash hands of stuff the regular strength dish detergent is not powerful enough for.)
*Granted, I’m on here sporadically. Time...
I ordered 4x 90 oz. bottles (needed to get up to order minimum anyway, and the stuff should last practically forever: The bottle may deteriorate 1st.) When I checked last night, my order was shipped and Wally World showed “out of stock”. I’m guessing a few other people had the same idea.
Isn’t 70% isop. (rubbing alcohol) the most effective strength? Have seen numerous suggestions on these threads to dilute the 91% stuff down.
Otherwise, yeah, good suggestions.
A good executive delegates.
He has a task force of experts including the VP. They know
The President can only recite what the experts tell him.
His problem is words from government sources not on the task force
