Health professionals say the reduced person-to-person contact in rural areas will help buffer them from the virus. But everyone should still prepare.

BREAKING CORONAVIRUS THREAD: A 36-year-old Omaha woman is “very seriously ill” with COVID-19. Epidemiologists are arriving here to trace her movements since ... 1
she returned to Nebraska Feb. 27 from England. She became ill Feb. 25 during the trip with her father, but her symptoms were mild until Thursday, when she went to an emergency room.
3/3 Where she might have gone and with whom she might have been in contact were unclear. “We don’t know those answers right now, I’m afraid,” Nebraska’s state medical officer said.
MARYLAND
Marylanders if Sat Feb 29th you went to Village at Rockville & attended an event between 12pm-6 pm should per the State to immediately contact their doctor. Please view the press conference linked below for further details. These cases relate to interaction with Bucks County closures, it appears the Texas cases and an Egyptian Cruise are also related. The 3 Maryland positive cases are not community spread. The 7 tests were returned negative today including the 3 children who visited Westchester. 8 cases are still pending

NEW: A resident at Issaquah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has tested positive for COVID-19 and the skilled-nursing facility has been quarantined. No other cases have been reported there.
More coronavirus updates:
If there is a BIG conference the main thing might be at one center, and another at a smaller group in another hotel.
When the banking conferences I went to came to town, it would take over a couple of hotels.

Perhaps I should not have used the official term “CFR”.
But the question I’m interested in is this: “If I get this disease, what are the chances I’ll die from it?” Since we don’t know how all those who currently have the disease will ultimately resolve, the best answer we have comes from all those cases where the disease has run it’s course, expressed in this equation:
Number of Deaths / Number of Resolved Cases
or, alternatively
Number of Deaths / (Number of Deaths + Number of Recoveries)
“Have you heard if insurance is paying out when you are sick with the flu. I also bought the insurance because it was peanuts due to the low cost of what I was paying. I think it was based on the Admin fee.”
Generally, if you can show you’re sick, then insurance should cover you (after about 18 months of back and forth...per my experience). But you do have to have fairly convincing evidence that it wasn’t safe for you to travel.
If your cruise is canceled due to Corona, then you should be refunded. If not, and you’re not sick, then nothing other than port fees and excursion money back.
At least that was the experience of the NCL people who skipped out last month, me included.
“SXSW is canceled in Texas over coronavirus concerns”
For people wondering what the big deal is, think “Super Bowl” and then think “Canceled”. That’s what it means to our youth.
Our church denomination was sent a letter by the head of the group (a hundred(?) churches in the Seattle area) that worship can be held if you can spread out 6 feet between people.
Just got a notification that our church services (3000 people) will be cancelled - but they will still do the service with limited music and the sermon.
We cancelled everything other than worship services earlier this week. The church does a LOT of stuff during the week.
