The WH hasn’t bothered to understand that fact .
latency period and infectious period are two different animals aren’t they? One would probably only be shedding immediately prior to symptoms - the viral load would have to build up. Shedding a few virus here and there isn’t going to infect many people. it’s shedding large loads so people get a large dose. At least I hope so

These politicians are really starting to scare me.
—There are thousands of people stranded in quarantine right now who cannot be let out until they are tested. That has nothing to do with “containing the outbreak”.
—The tests will just confirm what we already know, the cases are f&^%ing everywhere in very large numbers.
—If public officials are going to continue to allow large gatherings all over the country (NCAA, NBA, NHL, etc) then the virus will spread wildly all over the place regardless of how many tests are done.
—If airplanes are allowed to fly all over the world and fly back from all over the world the virus will spread wildly all over the place regardless of whether you are testing or not.

Could well be, but since you don’t know you are about to be infected you won’t know when that will happen...you would certainly be a menace at some point.
This virus seems to be _really_ good at spreading—that seems to be one of the major features that sets it apart from most viruses. So, it may be able to cause a lot of havoc in a short period of time.

NEW: A resident of a senior living center in Seattle is hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus. This is a DIFFERENT place than the nursing home struck by a series of deaths.
Residents are being asked to stay in their apartments.
Possible, but unproven.
