A place to consolidate CoronaVirus Stories
I just listened to Denver. They are testing the medical worker that worked on their first coronavirus patient. They have not put the medical worker in quarantine because he wore proper equipment. Doh. Then why even test ?
Thanks - didn’t see that. Matches what I had heard.
Well..just curious ..do you work in the Federal Govt?
Because as someone who DOES NOT work in the Federal Govt I can say this has been a major screw up.
But hey, if you think the CDC has done a good job you should probably let them know
They are getting a lot of flak.
Now, anybody who had Chinese food last night will get tested, our supplies will be exhausted, and it will be Trumo's fault.
At least they put the nurse in California under quarantine...even though they wouldnt test her.
Everyone in quarantine should be tested (if the test kits are available) because if they test negative they can released from quarantine!
The S-COV is the mild strain from bats only killing marginals. The L-COV was a morph after entering humans. It is more virulent and may be the one causing collapses and possible Central nervous problems. Or the L-Type was the human modified version of the S-Type.
A 55 min flight from Vancouver to Sea-Tac. He disembarked into the ‘terminal’ but did he leave out the little factoid that he had to go thru customs to get to baggage claim? Why yes, I believe he did.
“files off the airplane with other passengers into the airports international terminal, or S gates.
After a long wait in line, she eventually takes her turn at a passport-control kiosk, where a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent checks travel documents.”
The large number of people in quarantine around the country is proof the tests are not yet available.
They should (and presumably will) all be tested—then the positive numbers will skyrocket upwards, and the negative folks get to go home to their loved ones.

Look folks, let’s just accept that America’s policy on this is, in effect, whoever gets it gets it

LA County is not cancelling the LA Marathon, but they are asking spectators to practice social distancing and for sick runners to stay
The S type sounds like the one with the milder symptoms. So, that sounds preferable of the two. .

” have heard from three people in the last hour (two in Beijing and one who heard it from someone in Beijijng) that the #coronavirus has started to run throrugh #Beijing in a BIG way. “
Reputable guy. Note he’s not claiming certain knowledge.
I completely disagree.
You can have this virus and show negative on the test.
You can also have the virus.. test positive..then test negative in two countries..and then suddenly test positive again as seen by the Israeli.
What is unclear is if you are shedding while you are testing negative.
That said, US cannot effectively quarantine people for this virus. We aren’t Commie China. They are not going to weld you in.
The Marathon—isn’t that the race where friendly spectators hand the runners cups of water? :-)
I saw a twitter post stating it was starting to run through Beijing at the beginning of the week. I will keep my eyes open. China has tighten down their great firewall, heard reports they turn the internet off on March 1.
The second wave must be the L type, that will tear that city up.
518 new cases in South Korea
6284 total
Unfortunately the buck stops with Trump.
