A nurse who fell sick after caring for a virus victim couldn’t even get tested because she wore protective clothing.

Imagine the roadblocks with Medicare.

I wonder what the US gov’s estimates are for worldwide fatalities. Maybe 15MM on the low end and 65MM on the high end like this study?

From the synopsis: "...Although the L type (∼70%) is more prevalent than the S type (∼30%), the S type was found to be the ancestral version. Whereas the L type was more prevalent in the early stages of the outbreak in Wuhan, the frequency of the L type decreased after early January 2020. Human intervention may have placed more severe selective pressure on the L type, which might be more aggressive and spread more quickly. On the other hand, the S type, which is evolutionarily older and less aggressive, might have increased in relative frequency due to relatively weaker selective pressure. ..." Which one is worse, the L or the S?

I dont trust them either. That is why when I see posters saying they won’t believe things until the CDC confirms I just roll my eyes at the stupidity of it.

Ga briefing today they said that there would be no cost for the test through Medicaid, Medicare or commercial insurance. That was another big liberal push, that the tests were going to cost $3500, because some guy in quarantine or something. Sounded like a made up story. That one really ticked me off, because who knows how many high risk people won’t request a test because of the lies.

Just throw a piece of plastic over it and wait for the little buggers to lose their momentum.

How about let’s state our opinion but not make it personal like that. That takes away from the thread.

China is trying to rewrite history and make themselves the hero. It’s disgusting.

And have spent the last three months in heavy propaganda against the USA and threatening Asian nations to stand with China because ‘Asians are brothers’ versus racist westerners.

We need to divorce China. Starting with restricting which universities and courses their turtles can enroll in.

My wife’s doctor complained about similar situation, but blamed local health board not feds.

She still can’t get clarity on when test kits are admissible, so advises only if “showing symptoms” even if there’s a direct exposure possibility, as was the case with another of her patients who was at outbreak locale in Wash State.

The health care bureaucracies are going to have to figure this out, and it gives the President fuel to go after them for red tape barriers and turf-fighting.

There are several videos.

If you have the time watch one at your convenience—I promise you the time will not be wasted.

This guy has forgotten more about the coronavirus than most people will ever know.

ARIZONA

A Scottsdale fire crew and an ambulance crew have been put under isolation protocol after transporting the second confirmed case of the new coronavirus in Arizona within the last week, according to the city of Scottsdale.

The second case was confirmed by the Arizona Department of Health Services on Tuesday morning to be a Maricopa County man in his 20s.

Scottsdale Fire Department paramedics assisted Maricopa Ambulance in transporting the man to a hospital, according to Kelly Corsette, a spokesperson for Scottsdale.

Nope. When someone tells me it couldn’t possibly have been here in December because CDC said first case was January
whatever date...yep.. I roll my eyes at the stupidity

As it turns out..yep...it was here before CDC admitted the time of the first case..At that time we even knew that China was having cases in December.

Wasn’t hard to see that it was likely.

They testing now is not limited by that protocol, per GA health. Up to doctor’s discretion. Not sure what is up with that.

The test distribution has had an ugly rollout.

I used to work in .gov, and the big shots would give an order.

Then the lawyers would get involved and explain all the issues that had to be addressed. (Some obscure regulations written in 1938 would have to be addressed...blah...blah...blah...)

Then they would have someone at HQ deal with the funding—what was authorized, what was in the account, etc etc etc

Then they would have to contract out for someone to do something physical (like delivery, for example) so the contracting office would have to figure out what contracts would apply, whether this task was in the contract, blah blah blah...

You get the idea.

.gov is a bureaucratic mess!

Maybe that is a blessing. He probably has a hard time understanding it not being a lifelong bureaucrat.

I can just imagine some of the stuff he is saying as he is finding out how this is being handled.

Then you are going to have an insurance problem...just when will it be free. It is one thing to say it is free..but another to get it for free.

You must jump through all of these hoops..XYZ to get it for free. For example, that nurse that was wearing the protective gear. I can just imagine insurance saying no we wont pay for it because CDC said no.
