I haven’t read enough of this thread to see if this has been posted, but I looked online for Staples cleaning supplies about a week ago and literally the only product they had in stock was paper towels. Then today they sent out this email:

March 5, 2020

Dear Valued Staples Customer,

We know your company is working hard to navigate the current landscape and keep employees and customers healthy, so I am reaching out to keep you up to date on product availability related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This past week has seen a spike in demand for certain cleaning and paper products as well as hand sanitizers. In addition, some products may be impacted by manufacturing delays.

Please know our teams are working around the clock, closely monitoring our supply chain, partnering with our key suppliers and actively sourcing alternatives.

If items are out of stock, we will mark them clearly on our website. As they come back in stock, we will refresh the site to show you they are available.

We will be in touch with more updates as soon as we have them. I thank you sincerely for your patience.

Joanne Harris

Chief Commercial Officer, Staples, Inc.

Considering all the hospitals and clincs, Dr offices etc. across the country there would be an increase because they’re all preparing for what could happen. Then you add schools, gyms and companies also taking extra percautions.....all this before even considering the public.

Atlanta is called the Hub of the Southeast and their airport is very intl. They did host the Olympics one time after all.

True, but thankfully the international terminal is a separate building on the other side of the runways from the domestic terminal.

We might add a 2b step, and have the stews take everyone’s temp before they disembark, but that still won’t catch those who lie about self-medicating. And the stews are very good at spotting sick people anyway, especially on non-stop flights of some length.

It would take all of ten seconds to take a person's temp...AS THEY'RE BOARDING... and STOP passengers from infecting other passengers... That needs to be added to our 'fight the virus' list...

Yep, I bought a box of 200 Nitrile gloves online about a month ago for less than $10. Also a box of 10 disposable surgical masks for less than $7. The local CVS here was selling masks individually out of a box today for $10 each.

I was late to the hand sanitizer a few days ago, but still got two 8 oz bottles on ebay for about $6.50 apiece. Now what they have is 2 to 5 times more expensive.

Stanford Medicine COVID-19 test now in use

The Stanford Clinical Virology Laboratory has deployed an in-house diagnostic test for the virus that causes COVID-19. Rapid identification of infected people could help limit the spread of the virus.

From today’s Medcram video.

Pages 20 and 22 shows the mutations and how they extend.
Also, the blue represents (L type) the more serious strain). The red (S strain) represents the milder one.
Sorry for the crazy pdf link.
