A place to consolidate CoronaVirus Stories
Mythbusters did a segment of spreading disease around. Very telling.

LA County says its lab has such limited capacity that it can’t adopt new CDC guidelines allowing doctors to test anyone with symptoms.
When one woman called multiple hospitals asking for testing, she got the same answer.
I said Who does testing? And they said, No idea.”
the first premise seems questionable. this thing is crazy contagious. are there previous comparable diseases with the contagion factor range this one is given (plus length of incubation/asymptomatic transmission?)
it seems just as likely many WILL see this in their homes, even if it is just a lower resp. minor issue.
That's true but I don't blame him for that. He wrote in the article that he was bothered that in the original news stories about him all they wanted to talk about was that he cured Corona Virus with whiskey and honey. That was the reporters slant. Not his.
Here’s what I see. Numerous press conferences each day given by various government employees. The themes are “concern”, “no need for panic”, “wash your hands”...
I may have missed it, but I have yet to hear anyone in authority, (including the White House) sound sane and honest with us. I’ve heard lies, confusion and I’m really disappointed. I don’t expect them to be perfect. I expected policies and procedures to be in place.
We have twelve people quarantined here in my little county in the mountains of California from a cruise. I have no idea how long they have been quarantined, or what places here at home they visited before the quarantine started. Just CRAP!!
Very cool—thanks.
Governor Cuomo of New York has been the best I have heard so far.

Yep.
I just drove through a grocery store parking lot. A few people piled high w/water and TP.
The rest just had a small basket of items. Maybe theyre already prepped and just needed a few things :)
it was quite obvious even before mardi gras that it would be a spreader event. I am in mardi gras territory in Louisiana and was dismayed to see it go forward, but of course everything was going forward everywhere as long as possible.
Folks do not want to hear this, but I am predicting the New York state National Guard will be enforcing a quarantine on parts of NYC before this is over....and I think Governor Cuomo already knows this.
(Hint: He may not have told Di Blasio—yet.)
you forgot ‘masks are bad.’
I think a lot of folks don’t actually understand what they will need. I don’t believe the majority of water/tp purchasers have a few weeks of food at home.
maybe they plan to order delivery??
Quote from Cuomo earlier this week:
There are going to be hundreds in Westchester, Cuomo said of his expectation going forward. The number of people who will be infected will continue to increase. It is going to be dozens and dozens and dozens.
“As far as the companies that use China for cheap supplies and products they will move to Vietnam, India and other cheap labor counties.”
Does that help us when over 50% of Vietnam’s imports...are from China?
Decoupling from China sounds easy, until you try doing it.
“UN Cancels Womens Conference Over Coronavirus Fears (3/5/20)”
Maybe this virus was worth it after all?
Second hint: There will be _no_ warning of a quarantine. That would defeat the whole purpose.
We are going to need a “black helicopter” thread. :-)
there was a post yesterday from someone near phoenix who saw 2 c5’s land (unusual) and more unusual 4 train whistles at night on a track that rarely has trains.
I would think DoD is putting assets in place for whatever their domestic pandemic playbook says they need.
Can you imagine the kind of smut they would talk about at a UN Women’s conference, yuck.
