#BREAKING 2 more WA schools closed due to Coronavirus concerns..
Statement: Ferrucci and Wildwood are closed today due to flu-like symptoms of a relative of one of our families. The district is working with PCHD and these schools are cancelled in order to thoroughly clean them.
All types of masks reduced aerosol exposure, relatively stable over time, unaffected by duration of wear or type of activity, but with a high degree of individual variation. Personal respirators were more efficient than surgical masks, which were more efficient than home-made masks. Regardless of mask type, children were less well protected. Outward protection (mask wearing by a mechanical head) was less effective than inward protection (mask wearing by healthy volunteers).
Meanwhile, I've been gearing up to go self employed again this year restomodding old trucks and will be sandblasting, sanding, grinding, welding etc. I have one nasty N95 mask and just spent two hours looking for replacement filters for it. Nope, nada, zilch.(Made in Mexico, not China too) Finally got a hold of a local welding supply co and they have a P100 respirator and filters so I'm heading up to grab a mask and extra filters. It's the dual cartridge type. Guy said he's been getting tons of calls about masks. They supply Doe Run Mining so I imagine corporate set stock aside to make sure they'd have something for them. There's gonna be a lot of people sanding and grinding with no lung protection this year. Everyone will be doing it Mexican style aka bandana. Wet bandana for painting.
BREAKING: The first coronavirus case has been confirmed in a New Hampshire resident, according to state health officials.
Ah, but the outcomes will be unequal anyway. 80% or so have a “cold” or are asymptomatic. around 20% (maybe less in healthier, more advanced countries) have pneumonia, intensive care, organ damage or death. Silly commies simply cannot ensure material fairness, no matter how hard they try.

18 more deaths announced in Italy
Italian officials say the number of dead from Coronavirus in the country has risen to 52
One of the replies, to that tweet...
Their protection is insufficient. Their uniforms will be contaminated. They need face shields. Nothing should be exposed. Think about it...when they go home they are bringing virus with them. Do they eat lunch at local restaurants?— Deb (@Deb70621651) March 2, 2020
Look, the virus is just going to have to pass through, most are going to be OK. It’s going to be impossible for health care workers to avoid this, no matter how hard they try. God bless them all. Keep the faith, keep yourself healthy.
I just left a grocery store where an elderly lady was pushing her cart with one hand, while blowing her nose, into a tissue, with the other hand. Upon finishing, she proceeded to push the cart with BOTH hands...while still holding tissue.
My wife works at an old folks home. I asked her yesterday if anyone has been talking about covid19. Nope. How about on facebook?(she has 200 fb friends) Nope. Do they have masks at work? I think we have a few cheapo paper ones. Geez We’re 80 miles from St Louis so you just know some of those old people have kids in St Louis that will come to visit.
We live in rural Missouri and no p95/n95 masks is about the only sign I see. No one’s stocking up or at least there’s no empty shelves. We’re stocking up a little every time we go to a store. Buying 2-3 when we would normally buy one. I plan on doing one big shopping day this week be need to clean out the pantry(mics shelves and cabinets all over the house). Need to do some Spring cleaning in general to make room too. TP takes up a lot of space.
Yes, God bless and protect these first responders...and, our POTUS/VP.
Faith is always kept!
Same to you!!
All about the Benjamins (aka bonds), baby ;-)

Innovative!!
Assisted living and Skilled Nursing are two very different animals. My mom was in both. In assisted living she picked up c-diff and it almost killed her.
She never caught anything like that in the skilled nursing facility. Of course, those places run very “hot and cold” and depends on the quality of the management.
The masks are already gone and unless you plan on going into a crowd, they are not really necessary. My crowd days are pretty much over.
I bet your wife can cite flu and c-diff protocols. That’s all COVID is in that environment. If it gets to TYVEK suits your wife will have some decisions to make.
I thank God every morning I do not have to walk into that hospital every day. I was regularly in the ER, the lab, and all sorts of places with things that wanted to kill me (people and bugs.)
Good luck to her. She should be OK. Tell her, wash-in and wash-out from me.
So, I have one word for you all....Forsythia.
(Just kidding. Thought we needed some humor for the day.)
They say the masks that don’t sit right up against your lips but instead have an air gap, are better. Air gaps around the side are no good either. I don’t even wear the fiber one pc dust masks because none of them fit my narrow face. Take the mask off and there’s a stripe of dust leading right to each nostril. I buy the dust masks that have a silicone face part and replaceable filters. I can get those in S, M, L. Medium is what fits me. Same with spray painting masks. I’m going to the welding supply store today/tom to get a new dust mask and replacement filters because I can’t find any replacement filters for the one I have.
So yeah, a rectangle would not do very well. Even surgical masks have a pleat sewn in so they wrap around a face better. Surgical masks are to protect the patient, not the surgeon. Nothing more than a drool catcher really. Can’t be drooling on someone’s innards.
I think you heard that from some FReeper named Pollard
