The thought is that, as the air moves through the heatcexchanger, it momentarily gets much hotter. Maybe not 150 though.
unbelievable if true....
It is beyond belief.
Oh yes, dont forget all those college kids on their European study trips coming home
I see the value in this.
But would probably just set my kitchen oven to “warm” at 170deg and place items in there.
And yet, even on this very thread...
We are so screwed.
I’m working on that. No problem with people wanting more than my own extrapolation.
Of course the whole home does not reach that temp- how stupid, or just argumentative, would someone have to be to say that? The mind boggles- it’s only reached in the heating chamber, baseboard or radiator heater.
No one seems to have researched the effect of brief high temps- but I’m looking for it!!!
BTW, there are two other points I made...
And the hits just keep coming.....
Coronavirus patient mistakenly released from isolation in San Antonio before testing positive for illness, mayor says
I have the 3M N95 respirator for when I am in a close environment where there is a high risk.
For day stuff like if I walking down a sidewalk with some distance between me and other people, I am using N99 Base Camp dust mask breathe safe. I have a bunch of refill carbon filters for it. You can pull the filter out and wash it.
At least they have masks.
IDK, no one seems to be willing to change behavior.
Schools, universities. Homeschooling should be well.
#UPDATE: The person from Manatee County has no travel history. The person from Hillsborough County has a history of travel to #Italy. -

The fact that the CDC allowed the public to be exposed to a patient with a positive COVID-19 reading is unacceptable, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said in a written statement. We will hold the CDC accountable to providing complete transparency for the public. This situation is exactly why we have been asking for federal officials to accept the guidance of our medical community.
Trump is going to get hammered on this. Like it or not, he oversees the CDC.
Thanks!
“ Increasing temperature to 65°C had a strong negative effect on viral infectivity as virucidy dropped significantly to 1 minute.”
65% centigrade is about 150 in real units...
Not as good as I’d like, but supporting info.
“Coronavirus patient mistakenly released from isolation in San Antonio before testing positive for illness, mayor says”
It wasn’t exactly a ‘mistake’, as the proper protocol was followed. Of course it would help if they figured out that this is NOT SARS and thus use a protocol that actually works.
“thats what were doing right now, quarantining. But we can bring in the Natl guard medics to back yall up.”
What do we do when we run out of them too?
We all live here for 24 hr stretches. If we shut down the entire station, that leaves the guys at the other station to run the calls, the ones we were doing CE’s with last shift. Oops.
We don’t have near enough supplies to go on every call suited up with level 2 HAZMAT protection let alone level 1. I can’t imagine trying to start an IV double gloved and taped up.
Where I am at would require cleaning or replacing 40 suits a shift at this station, or would under normal conditions.
I have been through enough panics to see where the increase in calls would be exponential. Back during the anthrax panic we probably doubled the call volume to go look at sheetrock dust, letters without return addresses and such.
He has been for the past few weeks. The liberals claim that all these CDC problems are because he cut their funding.
They are temp checked before they get into the foreign airport, they are temp checked at the gate and FAA regs require gate agents and stews to report any passenger they think is sick. I put up three or four videos of travelers who were shocked there weren’t things like temp checks to go along with Customs questioning when they arrived. They wanted a handout or as one put it, a ‘booklet’ to read. Those that had lived in China for years weren’t used to nontotalitarian control. I don’t know if BP&C has gotten stricter since they limited the flights to 7 ports of entry, I’m hoping they have. Other than the first two days after the Feb 2 restriction, I haven’t seen any other disappointed traveler videos. So I guess they worked the new policy in 24 hours bugs out?
As it stands right now today, no foreign nationals from anywhere in China are allowed to board at the foreign airport and any other foreign nationals that have traveled through China are in a 14-day mandatory quarantine - why Calif has 8600 of them. We do have a large population of Iranians on Calif however, especially in LAX area.
