Doctors make mistakes. Perhaps they needed to harvest certain organs that day, for some big bucks. I used to think this kind of thing was not possible, but I no longer give the medical community the benefit of the doubt.

I had a coworker whose wife was pregnant. They knew before the baby was born that it would not live due to a serious heart problem. They and their entire family, including their other children, spent 15 hours loving on that baby after it was born until it passed.

We have had doctors make so many diagnoses in our family that they were so sure of that turned out to be completely wrong. I could never live with myself if I didn't at least give my baby a chance at life after birth and see if the doctor was right. If it dies at least I gave it a chance and it didn't die at my own hand.

Early she says the perils of delivery were an argument for an abortion. Then the procedure involved killing the child and delivering it. So, since delivery was in the cards anyway, how is it an argument for the abortion?

I think a big problem here is when doctors (like this one) tell people: “Oh, this happens all the time. Go ahead and get pregnant again - there is no reason not to.” Guessing “there is no reason not to” isn’t good enough when is comes to pregnancy. We asked our doctor what would happen if I carried to term, and he said I would likely give birth to a baby who would choke for a few moments and then die. We got that information at 30 weeks.

Just wait until she is 79 years old and in the "home," with some greedy relative looming over her, putting a kink in her I.V.

"Auntie, the doctor said that you might wake up one morning and choke for a few moments and then die, so..."

I had a miscarriage. It was really devastating. My doctor said, ‘You know, this happens all the time and there’s no reason for you to not try again when you’re ready.’ So, a month later, I was pregnant again.

What an idiot. Give your body time to heal. For all she knows, there was a low-grade virus in her system, or some other passing thing that would, nevertheless, affect the baby.
