Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were facing an angry backlash today as their £20million security bill looks set to fall squarely on British taxpayers after Canada refused to keep paying. Canadian police confirmed last night it would stop assisting with security for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when they step down as working royals and become private citizens after Megxit on March 31. This means the cost of round-the-clock protection for the couple and baby Archie will fall solely to the taxpayer-funded Metropolitan Police, despite the couple leaving the UK for North America.

Me-again THINKS she is Royal simply because she married Harry. Canada has some trappings of royalty but for the most part the royalty remains in Britain and other than the occasional visit doesn’t have to do much in service of it all. Now that the pair has decided on an extended stay there is a cost. But since they are losing their designated royal status there is no reason for Canada to keep paying. I would assume they are now going to be like distant relatives of the Queen without that designation. Those who fall into that category don’t get any special security or what not.
If they really wanted the trappings they could lobby to become Governor General. They get a nice estate in Ottawa and security but along with that come some royal duties like opening Parliament and signing bills etc.
Megan's just a 3rd rate actor and a destructive force as her own dysfunctional family and previous marriage and relationships attests to....so her history is laden with a trail of people she's used along the way. Neither of them have appreciated their family they were born into as I see it. Booth have run away from them one way or another. Canadians have decided they're not worth the expense....so I think they'll end up living in Hollywood where body guards are plentiful and the celebrities will fawn over them as they do each other.
