This is a bigger sample than the original paper on arxiv.org.

It compared men / women, Asian/Caucasian, ex-or-current smoker / nonmokers

There were 213 samples
THere were no ethnic differences in the number of ACE2 receptors...except for smokers/ex-smokers.
There were differences between smokers/non-smokers, and men/women.

But with the news news of the cleavage site on the spike protein...dunno if it makes much difference.

If the furin thing pans out (I haven’t looked at it yet) the ACE2 distribution either way for whatever reason becomes irrelevant.

Might also affect other tissues. I’ll have to look at that and what distribution it’s got.

Ping PA Engineer to that paper too. (the furin one) Just in case he’s not here and/or overlooks it

conceptually, is it likely you can be cured of such a virus?

I cannot even imagine the long-term implications of this. if it mutates and becomes annual in effect, do we deal with 20% serious cases for most of the population annually?

no wonder the ccp freaked out the way they did and essentially tanked their economy. once they sequenced and the process of id’ing the virus hit up plus whatever bureacracy they had to get through, they knew something horrible had gotten out.
