I cannot even imagine the long-term implications of this. if it mutates and becomes annual in effect, do we deal with 20% serious cases for most of the population annually?
no wonder the ccp freaked out the way they did and essentially tanked their economy. once they sequenced and the process of id’ing the virus hit up plus whatever bureacracy they had to get through, they knew something horrible had gotten out.
We couldn't even handle the first year. We would have to increase the number of hospital beds from about 1 million (Current) to 12 million IF it's ONLY as virulent and widespread as the flu. If it's MORE virulent and more widespread forget it.

I doubt they understood the relapse factor in advance unless they have done human testing. If this turns out to be like herpes or HIV, where once you are infected with the virus, you have it for life, that would be devastating. I had Chickenpox (herpes zoster) as a kid, then 40 years later it came back as Shingles.
There were some epidemiologists at the beginning of Feb that predicted it could become a seasonal virus. If it becomes like the common cold, another coronavirus, where you never get immunity, that might be even worse.
