Yes. He’s been pushing from the beginning. He talked about it at the Senate hearing two weeks ago. I wished they had listened.

the problem is, 1) paying for child care for formerly latch-key kids; 2) care providers that shutter their facilities not willing to take the risk; 3) inflated childcare costs because of the risk

I haven’t really trusted the CDC since they began pushing for gun control using ‘gun violence for kids’ data that included 21yr olds.

High priced CEO’s were feathering their own nests. Long term well being of the rest of us wasn’t important to them.

Those CEO’s are probably in their bunkers in NK right now.

the problem is...

The problem is a pandemic of an untreatable, highly contagious (amazingly so) viral infection that kills 2% of the people who get it, which could have been stopped by severe quarantine three weeks ago (and may have BEEN stopped in China that way), which will now spread worldwide.

There aren't any other problems.

Thought we’ve had 15 for many days already. Who slipped out of the numbers to allow this one to take his place and why?
Contracted it perhaps from a returning traveler, huh. Then we have 16 plus whomever said traveler has coughed on.
****************************************************************************************
USA has had 60 confirmed cases according to the J.Hopkins map on 2/26/2020. That includes at least 36 from the Diamond Princess beginning with the numbers around 2/25. Only 6 recoveries and no deaths so far.

well, yeah, lol

and no, I don’t believe that China has stopped anything. They’ve just juggled their numbers on threat of jail or death by their new CCP committee. Are they even including Wuhan any more in their dailies?

S. KOREA (several stories)

The 505 new cases, marking the sharpest daily spike yet and outnumbering the 433 new cases reported in China, where the virus originated, earlier in the day, took the nation’s total infections to 1,766, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).

A 75-year-old virus patient who is tied to the religious sect in Daegu died of respiratory failure earlier Thursday, bringing the nation’s death toll to 13.

Amid lingering concerns about a so-called community spread, sporadic cases in other cities and provinces have been growing. Untraceable virus cases or confirmed cases that are in the process of having their origins tracked down stood at 717.

South Korea launches ‘drive-thru’ coronavirus testing facilities as demand soars
By Reuters - February 27, 2020 @ 10:03pm

SEOUL: From inside his car, a driver is checked for any fever or breathing difficulties by medical staff in protective clothing and goggles who lean in through the window at a new drive-thru coronavirus clinic in South Korea.

He drove off after the brief test showed he was clear.

Others queuing in their vehicles in the city of Goyang were instructed to stop briefly to submit a sample of secretions for closer examination, with the entire procedure taking less than 10 minutes.

That reminds me. I saw an article about Jeff Bezos arriving in New Zealand a day or so ago. At least his plane did. No one would confirm or deny that he was on it.

I think we should start hand wash shaming people. Like fat shaming or smoker shaming. Hey you did not wash your hands. Go wash your hands. I do it with my family. Perhaps it’s the retired nurse in me.

That means those parents will either have to stay home from work or arrange child care for the littles.

Depends on the age of the children, the area, etc. Please don't make broad-brush statements.

And Abe's request - is just that - a request. Prefectures will need to decide if they will comply and to what extent if they do.

Here is what CNBC has as a headline at https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/27/coronavirus-latest-updates-outbreak.html

"Japan to close all schools"

but here is what is said in the article down further:

"Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Thursday the government will ask (emphasis added) all elementary, junior high and high schools to close from March 2 through to spring break."

Wasn’t making a broad brush statement.

It’s probably not legal in Japan (it’s not legal here either) to leave a 5 or 6yr old home alone.

Someone will have to care for the child. That’s either going to be hired care, or parental care. If those parents are paid hourly (or simply don’t have vacation time for it) they will lose pay.

Lots of schools in other countries have been outright closed.

In Japan, do you think if the Prime Minister ‘asks’, that they will refuse? This is Japan.

Then why the large market for bunkers in NK?

You realize it’s a thing, right?

Most of the free traitor CEO’s did it for short term gain, to hell with our military/medical preparedness.

Unless you think outsourcing 97% of our antibiotic production was a great idea?

The snakes in suits book is correct. The larger the entity, the more powerful the entity, the greater the chance those leading the entity are on the Dark Triad spectrum.
