It is why she delayed for so long. Many Americans will die because of her. She is just now trying to save face when she should be hung.

“the stock market is not responding to any actual risk inherent to the corona virus, but only to risk believed in the minds of whoever is making decisions in the Chinese shipping industry.”

Yes, it was.

The chinese shipping industry isn’t making any decisions right now. They’re losing their shirts. They’ve been shut down by the government. Even IF the shipping industry was open there wouldn’t be anything to ship. Nobody is making anything right now.

Why is the market crashing?

Nobody is making anything in China (other than maybe babies because everyone is home...)

No product, no sales.

No sales, no profit.

No profit, market sells.

Perhaps you think, for the sake of your investments, that the chicoms should just sacrifice 2-4% of their population to death and another 20% to severe longterm health consequences to ‘keep on keeping on?’

Otherwise I fail to understand your kvetching about ‘the market’.

IMHO ‘the market’ isn’t done with this downturn. Not even close. In fact, IMHO, this is the first inning...

They were in a village far on the other side from Port au Prince. It was an S-hole to start with and the locals protected them. But it was several days before got word. Then ended up getting out about a week late. They did fly out of PaP, debut they were stopped several times on the way out with people with guns, cops with guns, and soldiers with guns.

The old nun running the group was able to get them through.

It was scary for us. And it was a learning experience for her. She learned that villages are much better than cities. She learned that helping people, helps a lot. She learned that the government is not riding to the rescue. And she learned to make red beans and rice or some Haitian form of that.

Wow! You suddenly transformed from a polite, reasonable person into some kind of ravenous, seething creature.

I only posted my opinions, get a hold of yourself!

Deep State wanted a hot war with Russia.

They don’t care how many of ‘us’ they have to sacrifice to get their way.

If thousands of ‘us’ die of this virus but it gets rid of trump it will be a win/win for them. They politely hate all of us anyway.

My wife’s step mom goes to China on missions once a year. Hasn’t been there lately though luckily.

Just don’t forget to buy low.

Lots of opportunity coming from this temporary stock downturn!

“Yes, those misled clueless people will be a burden on others.”

We don’t eat rice, due to it being carbs, but if push comes to shove, then we eat it. I bought about 200 lbs. of rice, figuring that’s good for 160 man-days, or 80 days for the two of us, if need be (and that be eating nothing but rice). But we do have much more, including a boatload of meat.

Anyway, the total cost of that rice was about $120...roughly what we’d save by not going out to eat a couple of times - something we’re already (not) doing, so as to minimize my wife’s potential exposure (weak immune system). So, if we never use the rice...big deal. We’ll donate it to our church or give it to a restaurant.

It’s incredible that people refuse to even take a step as simple as the above regarding rice...when it costs next to nothing.

I’m not in the market.

But rest assured, if I were I would advise against catching a falling knife.

I’m using Aristotelian logic.

That is, if you know the meaning of the Gospel, you understand the large and small of risk.

White rice, kept cool, dry, dark and free of bugs, lasts a very very long time.

Wow. We’re you able to talk to her via cell phone or was communication difficult as well? I can’t even imagine.

(Btw, I asked my son if he got his new schedule with where they are sending him. He doesn’t know yet. He’s keeping his fingers crossed for Shannon, Ireland during St Pattys day lol)

You posted crap with no basis. YOU came in here to make sport of people. To make yourself seem smarter and wiser.

Honestly, I love debating topics. You are like the people who go onto a discussion about a TV show or the Super Bowl to announce you don’t watch them.

If you think we are all nuts, state why. You might be right. But I am getting sick of the bullshit denial when even the CDC says it’s coming now.

So, either bring something to the conversation—good or bad...but don’t do the drive by shit. It’s really growing old.

This seething creature is tired of being reasonable to people like you who get offended when you are called on your crap.

Put it in your freezer. Lasts for 18 months in there. No bugs. 6 months after you defrost it.

They got the sat phone to work a few days into it. And it was a message to the “lead person” back here. Those days were scary.

You don’t comprehend either.
That’s alright, we both can count on our faith until reason catches up.
Cheers.

I don’t understand the failure to comprehend simple market economics.

The supply chain fiasco was a done deal 2 or 3 weeks ago. Regardless if another human ever got that virus again.

That it’s continued on, to crash out the supply chain even more, makes it a fait accompli that WE will have economic issues here. Along with shortages of things we aren’t accustomed to shortages of.
