I understand that. Doesn’t mean he’s not gonna get stuck there. And the government isn’t going to help him.

I understand he is your son and it hits close to home. But he needs to be careful in the next few weeks.

Hubby is still smarting about Trump's cv tweet.

I am just praying POTUS is spot on.

USFK Service Member Confirmed with COVID-19
By USFK Public Affairs | Feb. 25, 2020

EMAILPRINT
CAMP HUMPHREYS, PYEONGTAEK, Republic of Korea — —

A USFK soldier stationed at Camp Carroll tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first time a U.S. service member has tested positive for the virus.

The patient, a 23-year old male, is currently in self quarantine at his off-base residence. He visited Camp Walker on 24 Feb. and Camp Carroll 21-25 Feb. KCDC and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether any others may have been exposed.

USFK is implementing all appropriate control measures to help control the spread of COVID-19 and remains at risk level “high” for USFK peninsula-wide as a prudent measure to protect the force.

USFK encourages all personnel to continue to practice strict proper hygiene procedures as the best ways to prevent the spread of viruses and protect the USFK population: wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer, do not touch your face or eyes with unclean hands, avoid handshaking and unnecessary contact with others, non-mission essential large gatherings, clean all common-use areas and items, use caution when traveling off-installation, and most importantly if feeling sick or ill, avoid going to work or school and seek medical treatment for proper diagnosis.

New data from China buttress fears about high coronavirus fatality rate, WHO expert says

Good read, Be sure to read the last paragraph.

"A case fatality rate of between 2% to 4% rivals and even exceeds that of the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, which is estimated to have killed upwards of 50 million people....."

I am hoping it means we have enough antivirals for everyone who needs them if they need them.

But ya know...he should have drained the swamp. Now rosenweasel’s sister has the whip hand over him.

How many of the folks buy ten of something with a coupon? And yet they bitch at me for suggesting they buy an extra meal every week for a while.

It’s not like I am suggesting they buy a mountaintop retreat and set up barricades. I am suggesting a can of beans and some hot dogs.

At least he’s in Korea where they actually have a health service with actual tests for this...

I’m right there with both of you...regarding the anti-prepper mindset, here.

Of all places.

It’s in the mainstream news, conservative news, everywhere....yet these yahoos criticize US for understanding risks, and preparing, accordingly??

It’s like when we say ‘prep’ and ‘get ready’ they assume we mean by $10K worth of freeze dried food.

” people here who seem invested in the anti prepper mindset.”

Yeah, it saves 20% of one’s food budget to have several weeks of the food they use ‘on hand’. Whatever happens.
Nothing ‘crazy’ about that.
Don’t understand how they miss that.

I’ve added four days of freeze dried stuff every year for the past few years. Some for when I go on a long camping trip. Some just because.

I started making jerky for family and friends a few years ago.

I need to spend about $300 to be able to close down for a month. And most of that gas for the generator and propane for cooking.

If you get yourself ready for any natural disaster, it’s just a hop skip and a jump to holding up in my house for a month.

Yes, believe what China says. Go ahead and vote for Bernie while you’re at it.

China’s economy is about to flop. They’ll say whatever they need to to prevent that from happening and they’ll also force their workers back to the factories even if they’re sick. If someone drops in the assembly line, drag them off to the incinerators and pull someone else in. The workers are expendable in communist countries which is the ultimate irony since it’s considered the “worker’s party”. That’s our future under some leftist dem.

Not heavy. You virtually float. You can jump like 20 feet.

He has a mother who has stocked him with N95 face masks, hand sanitizer, extra clean pillow cases, and gloves. He has spent the last few years learning how to avoid illnesses and how to stay germ free for me as I am a bone marrow transplant patient. There is no one more aware of how to be careful than him.

We just got done stocking up. We pick up extra just in case the kids don’t take it serious. Our goal is to make sure we don’t have to go into the city for anything.

If the virus does not come around we will eat the food anyway, no lost in being prepared.

I think a lot of the people who do not prepare live paycheck to paycheck and don’t know how to budget. Maybe those are the anti prepper people.

We are worried he will be trapped in one of those countries if travel is shut down.

We’re, thankfully on natural gas...for our generator.

Just hoping nothing happens to shut down gas, if power goes out.

Do you make your jerky in a dehydrator?

I am too. Trust me. But, I can’t show that to him. It’s not ‘healthy’. He’s been thru too much with me already.
