According to the article, Kim Jung Un is still a brutal dictator who has dealt with the threat of covid-19 by executing at least one patient. Punishment for leaving quarantine.
Speculation. Execution for covid-19 was cover for execution for something else. But who knows?
Really? How old was he? Maybe he just died and the death was conveniently attributed to coronavirus? Did the ambassador know anything of importance?

Yes. Just a China can use Coronavirus against journalists, Christians, protesters to get rid of undesirables, world-wide people can “go missing” either because they want to escape arrest or because someone wanted them gone and all they have to say is the magic word, “Coronavirus”. If the execution was of someone that had visited China, it would have to have been someone from the elite. If it was a set-up, perhaps it was tying off a loose end. Kim’s keeping the elite in line is also a valuable goal.
