Let’s not push the panic button over the new respiratory virus. It is already known to be far less lethal than SARS, and may not be any worse than the common flu. In any event, it will be managed just fine in the United States.

Rush is on the bull’s-eye about this.

RATs and their media are trying to make something much bigger out of COVID-19, to attack POTUS (and us) with it.

They’re hoping it will be “Trump’s Katrina.” (Sheesh! These people are sick. BTW, that phrase may have actually come from never-Trumper Hugh Hewitt.)

The NIH guy has said repeatedly that the death rate out of China is vastly overstated, because they are not reporting all the cases—hence, THE DENOMINATOR OF THE FRACTION IS GREATLY UNDERSTATED, making the death ratio appear to be much higher than it is in reality.

FOR EXAMPLE: If instead of 80,000 cases in China there are actually 2.7 million (not a stretch at all!), then the death ratio of Covid-19 would be approximately the same as the common flu in the U.S. today, or about 1 in a 1,000.

Although I live within miles of the (naturally orange, "red" dirt-muddy) Red River in TX, AR & LA, I totally missed those "blood-red" rivers!.

For some reason, they bring to mind the beautiful Animas River in Colorado --that turned yellow after the EPA dumped tons of toxic mine tailings into it:

Back in my consulting days, I had a small, old New England yarn-dyeing company as a client. They were known locally for several "colorful 'oopsies'" like the ones depicted (but, not, always red ones...)

IOW, I see the hand of Man -- not the hand of God -- in those images...

That there Red River out in cotton-growing Central and West Texas runs “Longhorn Red”. UT school colors.
The color was developed to duplicate the iron rich soil of the region.
This time of year, I kinda miss seeing those huge open fields of perfectly straight plow furrows.

I “had” a photo of a classic West Texas dust storm that hit us in Midland. Taken from a weather plane (Piper?) above and in front of the advancing wall of dust. Spectacular “burnt umber” red.

I thought it was pretty intuitive how they defeated the “Zekes in World War Z.

The hero injecting himself with a virus to play dead among the dead was a money shot worth the ticket price. Playing dead in the animal kingdom is a very adept strategy. It reminds me of Barry in Dinner for Schmucks when he plays dead so no one will beat him up.

Camouflage is a good strategy every time.

I wonder if lab rats have created a virus that could make one smell like a skunk. That would make for a funny contagion. A bunch of human Pepe Lepews’ nancing around. But alas it would scratch the throats of the elitists on hill Nobs everywhere so that’s out.
