“New Jersey has no confirmed cases

Without tests kits, of course it'd be zero.

And if you go to the BNO site right now, you’ll see 217 as “Recovered” and 27 dead, outside of China

It takes longer to recover than to die.

My guess is that 10% will wind up being on the low end.

My guess is Chinese estimates of cases are an order of magnitude or more too low. I also presume they are misdiagnosing or hiding fatalities but not to the same extent. Hiding fatalities is much harder than ignoring cases. That means the rate is probably lower than 2% but I'd go with 2 until we get better info from outside of China.

Well, to put it into perspective TWO separate Freepers posted. One headed there today, one flew in there on Saturday night.

50 dead in Iran? Can this be true?

Gotta head to work. Going to be very hard to focus today.

Yes, they just have a yellow warning on S. Korea and Japan, saying to exercise caution.

Iraq’s first case:

First case of coronavirus confirmed in Iraq’s Najaf: health ministry

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Iraq’s health ministry confirmed on Monday that an Iranian student in the Shiite holy city of Najaf has tested positive for the coronavirus.

“Najaf Health Department would like to clarify that the results of laboratory tests conducted today showed an Iranian citizen studying religious studies, who had entered Iraq before the ministerial crisis cell’s decision to ban Iranians from entering, has coronavirus,” the Najaf Health Department said in a statement.

The student’s case was discovered while medical teams in Najaf were carrying out routine tests on students and visitors. The student was taken to hospital, quarantined, and samples taken for testing, the department added

An Italian passenger jet was held in Mauritius over coronavirus fears today after Italy confirmed its fifth virus death in Europe’s first major outbreak.

Dozens of passengers from Lombardy and Veneto - the two worst-affected regions of Italy - were told to return home or face quarantine in the Indian Ocean country, airline Alitalia said.

Forty of the 224 people on board eventually chose to return home to northern Italy where 50,000 people have been placed under lockdown, schools shut and public events banned in a drastic bid to contain the virus.

It is not yet clear whether any other passengers or crew were kept in quarantine in Mauritius, after initial reports said around another 30 people from the affected regions had been on the plane.

What a joke:

WHO says it no longer uses ‘pandemic’ category, but virus still emergency
Today, 07:42 AM
febr 24 2020

GENEVA (Reuters) - The World Health Organization no longer uses the term pandemic, but the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak remains an international emergency that is likely to spread further, a spokesman said on Monday.

Fears of a coronavirus pandemic grew after sharp rises in new cases reported in Iran, Italy and South Korea, although China relaxed restrictions on movement in several places including Beijing as its rates of new infections eased.

Maybe this is why WHO said they won’t call a “pandemic” any more

The World Bank’s “pandemic bonds” are designed so investors pay in the event of an outbreak

It’s worse than that.

If they’re not going to test for it, if you get admitted to the hospital for pneumonia all you’ll get is O2 and antibiotics. We know from the NEJM paper those do absolutely nothing with this disease. The ONLY things that seem to have any effect at ALL are the antivirals.

And the CDC statement said outright that no meds were approved to treat this.

So you won’t be getting any of those.

(but someone will...the question is who are they being reserved for, clearly it’s not the rest of us...)

“The 2019 Novel Coronavirus has sickened hundreds of people and killed more than two dozen people”

Huh?
Which orifice did they pull that data from on February 23rd?

I remember reading that aspirin made the flu of 1918 much worse.

I don’t know more, specifically, than that.

With dead all around the world from this now, we likely also have a death toll.

We will never know, however, because even with a billion+ dollar budget the CDC has decided to give up before it started.

Too many people on the planet anyways.

Control the test data= control the narrative

Orrrr...maybe mutations have rendered current tests obsolete?

"(but someone will...the question is who are they being reserved for, clearly it’s not the rest of us...)

This could very well be the game that is afoot. They've just decided it's going to burn through the population so they have a plan to mitigate the damage (to the power structure).

They won't be able to keep it a secret, though.
