I remember reading that aspirin made the flu of 1918 much worse.

I don’t know more, specifically, than that.

It will reduce your platelet count. They ask you if you have taken aspirin when you donate blood, as you may not be able to donate platelets.

The 1918 Flu (Spanish Flu) hit people the hardiest who where EXTREMELY healthy. That is why they conjecture that it was the immune system attacking the body.
