Figured we would start numbering the threads.
Some points to keep in mind:
1. This thing is not “just the flu.” 2. 1/10th of the worlds population is in some sort of lockdown. 3. Generally, we don’t buy the Chinese numbers But if anything they are low. 4. Everyone is welcome to post, but don’t bore us with your “you are panicking” posts. They are tedious.

Yeah, it’s here- and more than we know.
Still, there’s more panic to be caused by lack of trust than by useful stats.
Anywhere from 20 to a 100 thousand ‘suspected’ cases wouldn’t surprise me. Or be threatening. Our system can handle it.
But not having info does threaten me. CDC is doing a terrible job on many levels. Maybe another department would do better.

These doctors can make a preliminary diagnosis with chest CTs if radiologists know what to look for. They ended up doing that a lot in China with the shortage of tests.
Interesting that we’re even having this conversation. US healthcare should be better than this.

I should clarify, US government should do better. The healthcare is at the whim of the bureaucrats. That’s the biggest problem. Is there not a private entity in the us that can manufacture the tests?

I listened, a lot of info there. She also almost made it sound like the cruise evacuees could have been infected en route, when the guy clarified they’d been tested 48 hrs prior to the flight.
The CDC regulations frighteningly remind me of the Obamacare death panels.
Regulations kill.
And yes, this is not American.
He needs to bring in an outsider like Dr. Gottlieb or Dr. Osterholm, they know their stuff and they get what needs to happen. They both testified to the Senate and Dr. Gottlieb has been sounding the alarm on things we should be doing, like testing. But he does not appear as a nevertrumper either.
