Figured we would start numbering the threads.

1. This thing is not “just the flu.” 2. 1/10th of the worlds population is in some sort of lockdown. 3. Generally, we don’t buy the Chinese numbers But if anything they are low. 4. Everyone is welcome to post, but don’t bore us with your “you are panicking” posts. They are tedious.

Recovered and discharged people were sent to designated centres from Saturday onwards
Decision follows several instances in which recovered patients were found to be still carrying the virus and able to infect others
And there is still time to do that.
We at least, have the benefit of seeing what is happening in other countries instead of being caught off guard about it.
Anyone who isn't stocking up on food stuffs and other essential supplies now is a fool.

I can’t imagine the starvation and degraded living conditions in Wuhan
And just how easy it would be to have the same problem here
I wonder how many millions are in the same boat? It will be a very bad sign when they go to the pharmacy and they get a nice reply saying “Sorry, but we are temporarily out of that medication”. But there are a lot of natural products that can replace pharmaceutical drugs in many cases. I would think now would be a good time to start investigating alternatives.

The stock market and the “economy” are the least of your worries.
The first US case, in Washington state, was sent home after being cured and told to self-quarantine.

China and Iran have been significant trading partners since the opening of the Silk Road in the 12 century. It is how the Black Death moved from China to Europe.
The transmission of the disease is following a natural path—East to west.
I look at the map and see people thinking this is coming across the Pacific. It’s probably going to come through the Middle East and Africa where hygiene is not as much a rule as it is a suggestion.

I work in a hospital - we have an adult ECMO unit which is not common. Most of them are peds and I expect we’ll be seeing patients with this in time.
I had the weekend off..not looking forward to tomorrow’s meetings.
But it's ok to post drivelous speculation, like 10% mortality with 100% infection rate, Chinese incinerating 1000's of extra victims, etc, etc.
