Been saying that the budget act of 1974 or thereabouts has been the root cause of national debt and soaring budgets for years and years.

It automatically doubles the national budget every 24 years at a minimum. The actual rate is more like 12 years to double the budget.

What we should have is automatic across-the-board CUTS of 5% each year. Then we can start negotiating on where to spend more $$.

Combine that with eliminating full departments that have no Constitutional basis, and now we’re really looking at cutting into the debt.

Hannity has for years been pushing the “penny plan”, which would cut each budget by only 1%. No interest by the politicians.
