I think this bloke's assertions are technically accurate to a point, in terms of the Constitution, but still more or less off the wall.

What do y'all think?

Will not stand the Constitutional inquiry. If no SCOTUS inquiry (uncredibly unlikely), then it will not stand thru Congress who must approve interstate agreements.

To execute this will be an unlawful amendment to the Constitution. CinC can actually send in USMarines andMarshals to make arrests. OPTICS: Entire Legislatures being frog-marched.

This is pandering to the "John Brown wing of the left".

Technically, he is correct. A state legislature may choose to not hold a popular election for presidential electors, and a state legislature may even override the people's vote and assign presidential electors on its own authority. In a decision after the contested election of 1876, the Supreme Court ruled that state legislatures have plenary power to choose electors.

In the contested election of 2000, the Florida Legislature chose a slate of Bush electors just in case the recount was still going on when the Safe Harbor Date from the Presidential Election Act of 1887 kicked in.

If we have a true CF -- a good naval term -- in this election, state legislatures have the constitutional authority to appoint slates of electors that differ from the popular vote in a state.

It would help his case if he got the sections of article II correct.

I think the electoral map guy is a closet leftist dreaming of Shanghai-La where chaos puts his favorite dictator in power.

This guy thinks that Venezuela’s implosion was due to USA actions to destroy their economy, based on several of his videos that I watched in the past.

If the legislature has passed laws pertaining to how the electors are chosen, then those laws have to be followed. Those laws are that State’s fulfillment of the Constitutional right of choosing electors. I don’t think that the legislature can just willy nilly decide to do something contrary to their State Law or State Constitution. That’s my opinion, but I’m no lawyer.

This guy has some interesting points from time to time. He served in the Military and his area of expertise is S. America. His videos have a lot of info on the Navy.

And also, this guy just said that the electoral college didn’t really help the smaller states. However the election of 2016 pretty much showed that it does help prevent the NY and CA from choosing the President.
