Best Foreign film AND Best Picture? That’s gotta be a first. Question is how can that even happen?
Next year it’ll be a Chinese film, “The big cootie”.
I’m just glad that the appalling “Two Popes” was shut out.
Just read the description for parasite on wikipedia.
Poor family infiltrates rich families household as posers. Hilarity ensues and then theyre found out and some members of the poor family stab the father of the rich family to death.
Its considered a smart picture about the evils of capitalism.
Critics find it ... refreshing.
I almost died laughing watching Joaquin Phoenix’s speech. I can’t believe how far gone the left is.
Buttigieg demonstrating, yet again, a near magical ability to appear as if hes saying something profound while actually saying nothing at all. His ability to bullshit people is peerless. No one bullshits like Pete, no one. 👇🏻 https://t.co/gNrRMffIGY— Dan Bongino (@dbongino) February 10, 2020
Congratulations to all of tonight's #Oscars nominees. Great films allow us to momentarily inhabit the lives and the hearts and the challenges of another person. That matters. And that's why I'm glad to see Hair Love, Little Women, and For Sama included among this year's nominees.— Pete Buttigieg (@PeteButtigieg) February 10, 2020
I saw Parasite and I did enjoy it. I also saw “Created Equal”: a documentary about Clearance Thomas in his own words. Created Equal was much better.
Too cool!
I think Phonix has won one every best actor award so far this year. It must have been one helluva performance.
Jane Fonda Uuuuuugh!!!!
Hollywood is crap. Everything is a remake, and bad remakes at that. You want to watch a good original film, you need to watch something from Korea or China.
Korean films have been of very high caliber in general. But there is a new wave of young filmmakers also taking the torch. Some films particularly in the past two decades are too dark for my tastes, but others including some now are so emotionally profound and superb in their aesthetic craftsmanship.
I bet Chinas industry would be exemplary too if it didnt have such a horrible, censoring government.
Hollywood is now so “woke” that they can’t even give Best Film to an American movie. The very idea of Amercan exceptionalism MUST be rejected!
Boy, I bet Quentin Tarantino is pissed!
I wonder how many people in this country heard of the winning movie “Parasite,” let alone went to see it? I never heard of it before. Of the 9 nominated pictures I had only heard about 5 of them and the only one I deemed worth seeing is “1917.”
Well, Im glad Renee Zellweger won. A Texas beauty.
Yawn .......
The Oscars. How boring can you get?

Saw the movie (Parasite).
Pretty entertaining for a foreign film. I’m not usually into having to sit and actively read everything I’m watching, but I strangely enjoyed it.
Maybe the foreign setting, and having to sit still made the plot more intriguing, even though the plot is really just a scaled-up episode of the Twilight Zone or Black Mirror.
Saw ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’ in the theater, great film. Looking forward to ‘The Irishman’ when it comes out on Criterion Blu-Ray later this year, also ‘Ford vs Ferrari’ when it is out on disc.
