Several posters today have been criticizing Mitt Romney by simply saying “Mormon”* or something similar, as if that explains it all. I’m sure that every religion has someone who has done something foolish, but somehow, their religion is never mentioned. To help everyone understand that it is not Romney’s religion that is making him act like a buffoon, I’ve compiled a brief list of people that have helped make America great who were either raised Mormon or became Mormon. (In alphabetical order by last name.)
Gutzon Borglum: Carved Mt. Rushmore
John Moses Browning: Created the Colt M1911 pistol among many other firearms.
Clayton Christensen: Author of “The Innovator’s Dilemma” called the most influential business idea of the early 21st Century.
Stephen R. Covey: Author “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.
Henry Eyring: Chemist, Developed the “Transition State Theory” used by others to make Nobel Prize-winning discoveries.
Philo Farnsworth: Inventor of Television.
Harvey Fletcher: Inventor of Stereophonic Sound.
James Fletcher: Head of NASA during development of the space shuttle.
Gladys Knight: Singer.
Don Lind: Astronaut.
Ed “Big Daddy” Roth: “Rat Fink” car designer.
Brent Scowcroft: National Security Advisor.
Also, Eleven Medal of Honor recipients were LDS.
*Proper name: “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints”

Romney has been fighting for Bolton to testify in the Senate since early January. There was a coordinated action that fell apart. It would be interesting to get Romney’s testimony over why he was so interested so many weeks ago of Bolton’s testimony and what he anticipated that testimony to reveal.
I mean, surely, as a man of God, he can swear an oath against perjury as he answers these questions.

So with my list in the prior post, basically 95% of Mormons that are in high Federal office are idiots.
Mike Lee unseated a Mormon liberal. The same thing can happen to Romney.
The other list must represent people who overcame their religion to do great things.
In politics, they suck.
The problem isn’t that Romney is a Mormon.
The problem is that the heavily Mormon Utah electorate is willing to back a poseur like Romney largely because he’s a co-religionist.

No different than Catholics voting for Catholics, Protestants voting for Protestants or Jews voting for Jews. It’s the same thing.
He did this because he’s a jealous POS, and this was personal on his part.
Thanks for the reminder; we all see in part, and we have inherited histories from our fathers that may not have been accurate. In the flow of history what matters is wether we are seeking to do good. So, in spite of whatever fanciful stories we tell, we must ask this question: are we following Torah?.
If you are a good Christian, you are, in varying degrees, depending on your tradition. Now, when the very existence of our nation is at stake we must work together to save her, and seek the face of the one King of the Universe whom we adore.
Romney was worse than Obama; in radical leftist in “severe conservative” clothing.
Recall that the previous phony conservative W gave us massive increases in federal outlays, a push for reauthorization of the AWB, open borders, openly homosexual ambassadors (etc) all with the blessing of a R Congress wanting to give W “wins”. At least with Obama, there was R fightback and zero gun control.
Romney supported the Paris climate accord, socialized “free” trade, gun control, homo “matrimonials”, government health care. How exactly was he supposed to be better than Obama?????
So are you defending Romney or his religion? In both cases, there is a problem. Everyone has the right to freedom of religion, as per our bill of rights; that does not mean the religion is true, nor does it mean Romney suddenly is a truth teller.

Reid, Romney, Flake and McCain.
All are either Mormon or have political connections to Mormons.
I worked with a bunch at Intel for almost 30 years in design and it was well known if you wanted a promotion, become a Mormon.
I see you cherry-picked your Biographical examples. I can do the same thing in reverse--using negative examples. And these at least brings your post to a dead draw.

I mean, Arthur Gary Bishop, Mark Hacking, and Jason Brown were all former Lds missionaries. I mean what? Do we find all kinds of murderers in the former CHRISTIAN missionary population?
