CNN contributor Van Jones warned fellow panelists, and Democrats in general, on Tuesday evening that President Donald Trump was helping African-Americans in real life and reaching out to them for their vote in 2020. Jones was reacting to the presidents State of the Union address, in which the president mentioned several efforts to help African-Americans specifically: What he was saying to African-Americans can be effective. You may not like it, but he mentioned HBCUs [historically black colleges and universities] our black colleges have been struggling for a long time, a bunch of them have gone under he threw a lifeline to them, in real life, in his budget. He talked about that. He talked about the criminal justice reform. He talked about opportunity zones. He talked about school choice.

Well KlaNancy gave a message to them too.
And that was STFU and keep in your place.
Actually, the Federal Govt does provide research funding via NSF grants, etc. Now, I don’t know if HBC’s were getting access to NSF grants and other Federal Research Grant Dollars in prior administrations but if Trump gave well deserving HBC’s better access to Federal Research Grant dollars then That is a good thing. All Universities in this country that have any Research Mission at all, i.e. offer at least Masters Degrees, etc, attempt to get research funding from Federal Research Agencies.
Wow. I am impressed he could be honest like this on TV.
I’m sure glad liberals skip to the Alex Baldwin portions of ALL and skipped that awkward election night results skit.
Nothing will burn down a plantation faster than letting the liar Mike Bloomberg into debates after Harris, Booker, and Castro have dropped out.
The CNN polls must show a Trump landslide in the making.
See tagline.
Just my $0.02 [gloating grin]
Well yeah. Free enterprise is a rising tide that lifts all boats. John F. Kennedy understood that. Today’s Democrat Party does not because they see the economy as a zero sum game, sort of like their hero Maduro.
Van is a radical Leftist, but he is very astute politically. Kind of Michael Moore. The Dems would be best to heed his (and Moores) warnings, but I really think theyre unable to do so.
Van Jones is a educated man, he sees what is happening, he knows what President Trump is doing is good for the country and Americans including African Americans. I think Van Jones LIKES President Trump but won’t admit in public. He has to spew his commie BS because it pays the bills, CNN keeps him around because of that. He knows that.
Van Jones is too smart for the commie BS he spews, he has to know that, but like I said, it pays the bills (for now).
That he's a dyed in the wool communist, and doesn't care about real-world results if they don't move the revolution forward.
Tell us more, Van.
Tell us all about how Trump is so good for your causes, and Democrats aren’t.
Maybe you’ll convince yourself to #WalkAway.
it is if you are a black democrat ideologue.
Black Americans don't want their kids to be relegated to the NEA plantation as a source of jobs and union dues. They want their kids to have a chance at a good education.
President Trump gets this.
“Donald Trump was helping African-Americans in real life “
Heaven forbid! We can’t allow that!
Agree. I understand why he’s doing it but it’s not any different than what dims have been doing.
Trump represents a huge opportunity for African Americans.
I don’t just mean the things he’s done. I mean his outreach efforts. If they take this opportunity and a significant percentage of them actually vote for him, it will mean going forward that their votes are in play...that they cannot be just taken for granted and then ignored as soon as the election is over. Locking themselves in to one party exclusively has done them no favors. Monopolies SUCK. Monopolies are why socialism doesn’t work. There is no need to put forth any effort for something you have automatically anyway.
Don’t worry, dims, I’m sure the black folk will warm up to Mayor Pete and his deep concern for those living on the other side of the tracks!
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
— Booker T. Washington
So why then, wouldn't he consider voting for him? Does he care more about his allegiance to Marxism?
Rhetorical question; obvious answer.
