Did everyone notice the deluge of #woke Super Bowl ads? I mean well over half this time blurted out their communist social justice bullcrap time after time. I was hitting the damn mute button more often than not. And to think in years past Super Bowl ads were something to look forward to!
It was the only commercial I really paid attention too. Lots of these are aired once then disappear, hope this one hangs around. Thanks for the info. The Groundhog one reminded my wife what day it was. Then she asked if the little rascal saw his shadow. I dont care. We live on the Western slope of the Rockies near Yellowstone, I wish I could count on only six weeks of winter left. Right now north wind at 25+ mph and snow. There aint no easy ride.
Liked the cheetos one !!!
I texted one of my friends that most of the ads look like they were created by people on heavy drugs.
I did like the Doritos and Jeep ones.
Youd like to think that the vast majority of viewers are disgusted with the ad agencies, and their clients.
Are there really that many gullible souls ? Thats depressing to comprehend.
My late wife never would connect to the destructive subliminal campaigns TV pushes and could not understand why I hated television with such fury.
I deconstructed once how TV crime and cop shows have changed since circa 1960 using NYPD Blue as a prime example. Virtually all villains on that show were white and mostly male. The subliminal messaging was normative is cruel, mean spirited and evil, only the screw ups and borderline nut cases (as the Andy Sipowitz character often was) were real human beings. In short the losers were the virtuous and the worst thing possible was to be RAAAcist.
I said the crap started in the62-63 time period when suddenly crime shows such as the Lee Marvin one were emoting over the ‘root causes’ of why young thugs became thugs.
So it is no surprise that the woke crap is all over the place and sodomy and gender dysmorphia are being held up as the best of our nation. My dear wife thought I was being just silly. Sigh.
My favorites:
Trump, of course
Weather Tech Dog
Groundhog Day (great parody of the movie)
Hyundai “Smaht Pahk” (hey, I grew up in Boston)
Password Paradise (been through that pain)
Hulu with Tom Brady (gives sports yakkers not in KC or SF something to whine about tomorrow)
Didn’t Like:
Bloomberg - Definite Napoleonic complex with the little guy
Hummer, Audi Electric Cars - And what makes the electricity?
Pop Tarts - Pretzel flavored Pop Tarts? Bleah!
Didn’t understand:
Alexa - Cute for the first one or two, creepy beyond that
MC Hammer Cheetos - See my comments on Alexa.
Mr. Peanut Death - Baby Peanut like Baby Yoda? Ugh!
Olay Space Walk - Um... no!
The rest of the commercials I either missed, or made such a lasting impression on me that I forgot about them before they were over.
The Bill Murray Groundhog Day reprise was classic. I have no idea what it was advertising, just enjoyed the sight of Bill Murray back in that town in Pennsylvania, waking up to Sonny & Cher, ducking his old high school classmate and kidnapping the rodent from his brother the mayor.
This NFL ad was nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbkafMhmvMo
Especially when the kid stops to honor the statue of Pat Tillman at 1:20.
Of course the TRUMP Alice Johnson ad was the best!
Sorry, see #68 for link to all Super Bowl 2020 ads.
Here's a link to all of them:
Thanks for the links. Yes, Trump’s ad was great.
The disease effects many venues
*They* should’ve thought it through a little further before settling on a term for it that rhymes with “joke”.
thats a great new Tshirt moment !
The ads were terrible, and the avocado ad especially. Who in their right mind pays that kind of money for ad time in the Super Bowl and then shows that kind of mediocre crap for advertisements?
I switched channels during the ads to Trvl which has videos of Paranormal activity. Would rather watch blatant fake videos of Big Foot and like than Super Bowl ads.
Yes, that’s a new twist in charity advertising too.
Playing on the popularity of showing how your x-dollar donation will fund y supplies for such and such, they now up that y figure by 10 and say it will “help” to buy 10y of the supplies instead. They think it sounds like the charity is more effective and your donation is going further that way.
But such misleading advertising is especially bad for commercial products, where you don’t know how much is going to whatever and how much “profit” or “proceeds” they claim to have.
I own both kinds of Jeep. Willys and American Motors and I did a little work to them.
Beat the Stupor Bowl.
A couple of Snoop Sisters episodes were on YouTube that I got more out of.
