American Airlines removed a passenger who boarded a flight in Dallas on Thursday while wearing a gas mask - causing panic among the other fliers.
The incident took place at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where American Flight 2212 was preparing to depart to Houston in the evening.
But passengers grew alarmed at the unusual sight - a man boarded wearing a gas mask over his face and a black beanie covering his head.
'Just FYI flight 2212 to Houston was delayed an hour because you let this guy on the plane wearing a gas mask,' Joseph Say wrote on Twitter in a tweet directed at the airline as well as news media outlets.

My co-workers were on that flight.
He didn’t even have a filter on the thing. It was to make a scene and disrupt.

The media has many people in a panic. But this is a little over the top.

People who are freaking out about Coronavirus dont seem to mind the fact that the flu kills far more people, up to 61,000 die every year from flu related complications.

I’m not going to argue people aren’t over reacting, but that is a very apples to orangutan comparison.
The mortality rate is very unknown, but appears well above that of the flu - typically about .1 to .05% - whereas the corona virus mortality rate in China (also a notable caveat) appears to be somewhere between 2% and 60%. It is so early in the cycle that per China less than 2% have gotten over the infection.
More proof that people are really dumb. Gas mask filters do not filter out bio agents since bio agents are too small.
