American Airlines removed a passenger who boarded a flight in Dallas on Thursday while wearing a gas mask - causing panic among the other fliers.

The incident took place at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where American Flight 2212 was preparing to depart to Houston in the evening.

But passengers grew alarmed at the unusual sight - a man boarded wearing a gas mask over his face and a black beanie covering his head.

'Just FYI flight 2212 to Houston was delayed an hour because you let this guy on the plane wearing a gas mask,' Joseph Say wrote on Twitter in a tweet directed at the airline as well as news media outlets.

Also has the black and white scarf like a PLO headscarf. This was intentional

"What kind of a scarf is that??"
It's a Leopard skin black and white pattern which I believe it was meant to resemble the PLO headscarf

There are many levels of masks.

Here is Southeast Asia there is everything from simple disposable paper masks with strings all the way tofulm face masks with replaceable cartridges on both sides. They are common everywhere.

The masks are often color coordinated with design patterns.

Sometimes they are like a winter ski stretch that that covers the entire head except for the eyes.

The funniest one I saw was a very gay man at the train station dressed in total florescent pink. Sneakers, pants, shirt, and even his mask was hot florescent pink.

No kidding. What is it four hours. An hour flight sucks that much time out of my life. Better to drive and not rent a car.

And you can wear a gas mask in your car.

Stupid airline should have been giving out masks and goggles to everyone.

They just sent a message that if you want to protect yourself, then you aren’t welcome to fly.

He may be the last man standing. But, personally, for a short distance like that, I’d only drive at this point (and for longer distances, no thanks, I’m staying home).

“People who are freaking out about Coronavirus dont seem to mind the fact that the flu kills far more people, up to 61,000 die every year from flu related complications.”

It’s the death rate that worries people, and the fact that there is no vaccine for it. The death rate is 2%, on the low end, and if it does spread like the flu does when there isn’t a flu vaccine, meaning virtually everyone in the country gets it, then 7 Million Americans die - versus the normal 3 Million who now die per year.

There’s quite a bit to be worried about...not quite worth panicking yet, but I have to admit I am debating that step - perhaps a week from Wednesday or so will be the right time to panic.

What is worrisome is the pneumonia, some people can get pneumonia and recover, some cant and end up dying..same with the flu, the flu doesn’t kill you, its the complications that kill..there is a pneumonia vaccine not sure if it would be beneficial against coronavirus or even the flu

My wife and daughter are stuck there. They went to visit family for Chinese New Years and ignored my pleas for them to leave when this first started. They are US citizens, but it's about impossible to move about there, and forget any flights out. Few and far between.

Looks like an ANTIFA thug, on the way to an ANTIFA rally. Wanted to be ready, as soon as they were off the plane.
