“People who are freaking out about Coronavirus dont seem to mind the fact that the flu kills far more people, up to 61,000 die every year from flu related complications.”
It’s the death rate that worries people, and the fact that there is no vaccine for it. The death rate is 2%, on the low end, and if it does spread like the flu does when there isn’t a flu vaccine, meaning virtually everyone in the country gets it, then 7 Million Americans die - versus the normal 3 Million who now die per year.
There’s quite a bit to be worried about...not quite worth panicking yet, but I have to admit I am debating that step - perhaps a week from Wednesday or so will be the right time to panic.
What is worrisome is the pneumonia, some people can get pneumonia and recover, some cant and end up dying..same with the flu, the flu doesn’t kill you, its the complications that kill..there is a pneumonia vaccine not sure if it would be beneficial against coronavirus or even the flu
