Now that the Senate trial is over, I hope Democrats have plenty of water and aspirin in preparation for the raging impeachment headache they're about to endure.

I suspect that, when Democratic voters asked for impeachment, they weren't thinking of a scenario wherein Trump remains in office.
I suspect that when Democratic Reps. Maxine Waters, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez worked their wild base into a frothy mess by pushing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to impeach, the expected outcome wasn't that Trump gets ready for a reelection campaign to spend another four years in the White House.
This absolutely anticlimactic impeachment is going to do nothing but frustrate and depress Democratic voters, who were hoping for some sign that their hatred of Trump would bear fruit. How is that going to work out for the 2020 Democratic candidates who need all those people to turn out for them?
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said immediately after the vote against additional witnesses and evidence that it had been "a sham trial," but he knows that's not true, and it's poor consolation for all the people elected Democrats built up to believe that this, in the end, would mean something.

I think it is all of the above. Trump is truly moving the ball in the other direction. Given four more years, he will "set back" the Dem agenda drastically.

Yes, Democrats are calling Trump illegitimate, the Senate illegitimate, Kavanaugh illegitimate, and will soon call the 2020 election illegitimate.
If they can turn this into a movement bigger than the pussy hats in 2016, it could topple our gov’t as it is structured.

HATE CRIMES should be applied based on emotional performance when they get to GITMO. I think short of death or a life sentence the Hate Crime trail sentences might carry more weight than Sedition... Treason.

I saw an article posted here a couple of weeks ago (don’t remember the source) in which the author drew an analogy to the movie “A Bronx Tale.” Specifically he compared the Democrats trying to impeach President Trump to the biker gang who walked into Sonny’s bar and thought they could do whatever they wanted. Like the biker gang, the Democrats thought they could do anything they want to anyone they want, and get away with it. Instead, when they messed with President Trump, they messed with the wrong individual. Once the impeachment trial ends, it will be Donald Trump who locks the door and tells the Democrats “Now, you can’t leave.” In November, the Democrats will get the beating of their lives.
