There are currently 2,493 confirmed cases worldwide, including 80 fatalities.
I'm intrigued, also, by lack of cases in NYC and DC. Very frequent visits from China.

Doesn’t have to be a ‘nefarious’’ explanation.
Could be economic: rich people in better health doing different things.

No quarantine, of course.
That’s for the little people.
We should have seen cases in DC, NYC and other frequent destinations of Chinese travelers by now.
Maybe good health and hygiene make a big difference.
I don’t see any other explanation.
Of course, if cases do show up there, there’ll be a quarantine pronto !!
They may be self isolating and still at home.
Dunno.

“does that count?”
Only if they’re rich...
People bringing it back here seem to be students and others going home to hug and kiss their relatives in Wuhan.
It appears to me that people who can afford hygiene and associate with people who also can- the ‘rich’- aren’t spreading it in ‘rich’ countries.
Americans pay a lot for their, and their companies’, hygiene practices.
Only reasonable to expect a benefit from that.

Someone coming back would just be at the end of incubation. They might just think they are jet-lagged. Give it a week and lets see where we are.

Think this is new.
Yeah, we’ll have a lot more info in a week or so.
And more reliable.
State health officials announced Monday they are monitoring two people in New Hampshire with recent travel to Wuhan City, China, who have developed respiratory symptoms and are currently undergoing testing for novel coronavirus.
