I doubt this. Oh, sure; the Dems want to eliminate opposition in Prez elections... Pelosi has said that those not voting Dem will pay a price. However, since the end of WWI all governments have claimed to be ‘Democratic’, even when they garnered 99% of the popular vote.
As to eliminating the Electoral College, Dems think they have found a way to accomplish that without a Constitutional amendment. Right now Virginia is attempting to follow Colorado’s lead and assign their electors to whoever wins the national popular vote.
The obvious Constitutional argument against that is that they are disenfranchising their own voters - to my non-legal mind. The real question is whether the ‘pubbies or anyone else will fight the fight.

Well, the Supreme Court according to what I just read is going to weigh in on that question of assigning electors to whoever wins the national popular vote. Also the case of the faithless electors—like the ones that voted for Colin Powell instead of Hillary.
As to the elections—Heck yes, if the voters won’t elect their party so they can get the policies they want —they are not above looking for another way to nullify or just not have elections. In fact there’s already been Elite Thinkers broaching that subject in Europe.
But I really think they will just use the demographics against us—and when they finally take over—like in VA, Katy barr the door. Look what they did in CA and are doing in VA.
Their rules will be set up to pretty much ensure Dems will always be in power there. DO NOT DOUBT ME on this-attempts will be made—these are communists—and Alinsky devotees—they have zero constraints and care not one whit for what deplorables may think.

Let's just say it: they are in process of overthrowing our Constitutional Republic! Of course the Governor of Virginia will risk a civil war in order to confiscate guns. Of course the Dems are prepared to bring up repeated articles of Impeachment. Of course the Dems are weaponizing the institutions of power.
Patriots must be ready to meet them head on - hopefully peacefully in the courts and at the ballot box. The Democrat Party has become an enemy of freedom! They are bragging about it openly. And who is Gov. Northam counting on to counter patriot protests? Antifa, of course. Can you say, 'Brown Shirts'?
The State Police and National Guard are not going to injure citizens that might include their families. The Dems are trying to stimulate a civil war.
