Is this why no casualties from Iran missile attack?

I just saw this video on YouTube and it has me wondering. Did the missle attack from Iran fail not because their missiles were badly aimed but because the America defenses were so effective?

That is a cartoon.

Close, it's from a game called game called ARMA3. I even found a web page which debunks the whole thing. Since comments are not allowed on the video I should have taken that as a clue. By the way there is an App from GAB , the Alternate Social Media site to Facebook , called "dissenter" which lets one comment on sites which try and stop commentary. Pulling that up for the fake Iraq missile page brings this remark: "fake fake fake this is from a game called ARMA3"

Iran controls it’s media that is available to it’s citizens. If they show missiles launched in the direction of Iraq, they can claim any success they want, even if the missiles were all intended to crash out of sight in the desert. If Iran wanted to negotiate after their general was taken out, this would be a way of doing that and saving face to it’s citizens. Until they shot down the airliner...

They hit some targets. The satellite images are out there. Nice direct hit on one aircraft shelter and a building at least. So no not all the missiles were shot down. If any were I haven't heard either way.

The Iranians have managed to kill more Iranians with their counterstrike than anything to hurt the west.

These weapons are part of the iron dome missile defense system.

I know the IDMDS is in Israel but not sure if we have these located at bases in Iraq.

Yep, NBC just showed the damage to our base. They tried to hit it and did.

Video game. If you look up actual footage of the system firing you’ll see the bullet arcs look different. The bullets also explode (timed fusing), the motion of the camera is very steady and artificial, and finally the dynamics of what happens to an intercepted missile are too consistent - there are several things that can (and do) happen when you hit an inbound warhead.

Wasn’t it reported by command and control resources at the base that they had forewarning of the attack and that base personnel were moved to safe areas?

Definitely a video game.

Indeed. I seriously doubt that the Phalanx system used 100% tracer rounds.

“My best guess: There were no casualties from Iran’s missile attack because Iran did not want any casualties. So they deliberately missed.”

One of the network news shows this morning was going on and on that this could have been a mass casualty attack. They said that a mess hall and barracks were hit, but that advanced warning allowed the troops to evacuate and take shelter. I’m not sure what to believe, but I know no Americans were hurt or killed, and that’s the important thing.

Remember the video game Missile Defense?

Missile Command. My favorite arcade game. I have it at home. Lapped the machine. FYI - Once you get to a million, your score goes to zero, and there is no high score recorded. Hence, once you hit I think it was around 700,000, you have to start losing on purpose to get rid of all your free cities and time it so you lose your last city as close to a 1,000,000 without going over it.

I would always bet on missile failure due to overkill.

That is, even the best missiles in the world (US) still have a high failure rate. And other missile makers are far worse than us. The stresses and strains on missiles are very extreme, so this is not surprising.

Any missile that fails for its payload to reach the target and explode has failed due to overkill.

They didn’t miss, they likely gave us a heads-up (via a neutral nation) because they didn’t’ want a war. .

They may have even set up Soleimani themselves, or at least accepted he was going to have to go after the attack on our embassy (and/or other plans discovered), and decided he was not worth getting Tehran firebombed over if they had taken out many of our troops.

which, it seems, if we didn’t have notice to send our troops to shelter, they might have.

They missed because

1. We had prior knowledge that our embassies around the region were next, after the attack on the Baghdad U.S. embassy, thanks to Israeli intelligence.

2. Sulemeini was killed for this reason—to show them there’s a new sheriff in town and thus to prevent or lessen their planned Stage Two.

The Iranians went through with their plans but because our bases were forewarned, and because they were warned of retaliation, the attacks were less harmful than expected.

This is why Trump et al. are saying, “Well, no, we didn’t exactly SEE the intelligence that our bases and embassies were going to be targeted.” Israel informed them.

Watch Amir Tsarfati and you will always know what happened and what is going to happen. He also told us of the Israeli strike on the Iranian precision-missile factory in Syria that happened a day or two later.

These missiles have limited guidance with a circular error circle in the range of hundreds of feet. They do not have gps systems like their cruse missile counterparts that hit the Saudi refinery.
