Pollyanna thinking is precisely what precedes the Libertarian approach to society and politics. I never heard it put so well.
Have to Wonder how the Founders would have responded to that kind of self absorption? I think they didn’t see much of it, probably.
Libertarianism is worse than that.
It is no holds barred ultra hedonism, total isolationism, complete open borders (”free flow of goods and people”) without any restraint, and supposedly low taxes.
Libertarian platform is all porn anyway, all abortion until due date, all prostituion legalized, ALL drugs legalized, for starters. i haven’t seen their official website lately but I did see that they tried to pretty up their platform so as not to disgust people, but those are their positions.
