In the last few months, it seems that in our area, we’ve had more women/children missing/ murdered. I don’t know if it’s just getting more attention, if any of it at all is tied to trafficking?
Also there seem to be more incidents reported in our area of attempted child snatchings at stores.

This makes absolutely no sense for trafficking. Stores have surveillance systems and, even if the person gets away with the child, they can be identified and likely apprehended.
For a crazy or obsessed person, though, the fact of surveillance might not be an issue as their focus would seem likely to be more near-term, local.
