When your MVP QB is knocked out in the first game, that's a devastating setback. The team responded OK with the backup, but candidly the season was lost with that collarbone injury.

I am an Eagles fan so I'm biased, but Foles is grace under pressure and a unifier when surrounded with good players AND patience. Benching Foles subsequently may have seemed smart, but there are lots of unintended signals that are sent with such an action.
