Bruce Allen has been fired from his role as the Washington Redskins president, ending a controversial, decade-long run as team owner Daniel Snyders top executive. He will have no further role with the organization, Snyder said in a statement announcing the move Monday morning, despite recent belief that he could be removed from his role overseeing football operations but given a different position with the team.

Good Morning Football mentioned the Rivera/Giants rumor. Time will tell but they did say very short time line for it to happen.
I believe there’s been an understanding for awhile that if Garrett wanted the Giants gig, and it was available, he would get it.
I believe that’s why he was the one who didn’t want the extension with the Cowboys.
If the Cowboys had a good season, and Jerry wanted him back, he could have told him, “Ok, I’ll coach for you, but I want to pick my assistants and have total control over player personnel.”
As it turns, out, now parting is the best for both parties, because Jason will end up in a much better situation in New York.
That’s just my conjecture, I could be wrong.
Very true. Bad owners can’t be fired.
Isn’t Jerry Jones his own GM?
I never understand why, owners like that, don’t just hire the best football men they can find, and then get out of the way and let them do their jobs.
Not sure Jerry will let him go too soon. His contract ends Jan 14 and Giants are in the NFC East too.
It’s not Jerry’s call anymore.
Jerry was hoping that Sean Payton would be available, but he re-upped with the Saints.
True but if Jason wants to remain with Cowboys he might wait to see what is offered. Just heard on GM Football Garrett has a 1 pm meeting with Jones family.
Skins won’t be alone...
The NY Giants should be letting go their coach and GM... what a disaster... their defense and offensive line couldn’t stop a good college team... let alone an NFL team.
What sealed coach Shumers fate with me was when two games ago he challenged a one yard gain on a called incompletion... the net difference wouldl have been 3rd and 6 vs. 3rd and 7... he wasted a timeout on a possible 1 yard gain... and of course he lost the challenge as well!
Besides DJ, Barkley and the surprise Slayton... there is very little on this team that rises to having to keep....
I hear they are interested in the soon to be fired Cowboys coach... why?
Clueless in the Meadowlands has to end.....
If Rivera bolted for the Giants, that would be a great way to throw shade at Snyder. Snyder is a Jerry Jones wanna-be, without the results.
GM: They fired Shumer, now take out the GM... get Rivera...!
Update: They fired Shumer, now take out the GM... get Rivera...!
Eagles should have stuck with Andy, I wish the Giants had a chance at him... he wins wherever he coaches...
10 years of decline and waning fan base. Meanwhile Snyder bought a new yacht last year.
I think all things considered Pedersen has done a heckuva job with the Eagles this year.
I think they will beat the Seahawks next week.
Pedersen has... especially with the injuries... but my point is that Andy wins whereever he goes... he knows personnel and how to coach.... the Eagles would alsways be in the hunt if they would have kept him.
What I don’t understand is why the Giants, and the Jets as well, settled for unknown commodities... what did Schumer do before he came to the Giants... why did the Jets hite a guy who bombed in Miami....
NY is a premier location for playing and coaching... why not bring a known winner in when you make a change?
As for a coach whose stock has risen... I would say the Buffalo and Miami coaches... particularly in Miami... that team way over achieved and played hard when they looked to be completely outmanned.
That’s leadership and coaching... let’s see if their stock continues to rise....
Look at the Jets the second half of the season, 7-9 is pretty darn good considering that they were 1-7.
‘I think they will beat the Seahawks next week.’
very hopefully I hope your prediction is dead wrong...Eagles have no business in the postseason...
They won their Division. Of course they belong in the playoffs.
A few years back the Giants won the Superbowl after finishing 9-7... They were 6-7 at one point.
The Giants came together at the right time... Unfortunately, given the huge amount of injuries that may not repeat with the Eagles... I love Wentz... he is a warrior... but they are undermanned right now.
But that’s an opinion and why you play the game.
Eagles earned their spot... That simple.
I never thought it would happen, but I find myself rooting for The Eagles.
