Just dropped my wife at the Cleveland airport early this morning (4:30ish). Security was heightened in comparison to when I went to Taiwan 2 weeks ago. Lines were routed through a dog screener.

Typically in the past I’ve seen the dogs brought in and walked down the line, but in this case they were presenting everyone coming in the line with a dog screen. As I was watching her finally get through and wave they brought a second dog in to swap out with the first. Have not seen 2 dogs at this airport at once in over 12 years since I started using it.

Dogs

I’ve been searched prior to going on base that way and have seen NG troops with dogs in airports.

It’s eye-opening

This means security at all bases is elevated, too
