House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leaving open the possibility of withholding articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump until she is assured a fair trial in the Senate.
“So far we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us,” Pelosi said Wednesday after her caucus voted to impeach the president. She was referring to what Democratic leadership plans on doing after the vote.

In a sane world, POTUS isn’t impeached until she sends notification to the Senate.
I’ve come around to the “short trial” viewpoint. I don’t think McConnell should have a vote on untransmitted articles. Adjourn the senate for Christmas; reconvene January 6. Let the trial timing mess up the campaigns of the 4 senators running for president
They put that in there to fool their double-digit IQ supporters, most of whom don't know there's a difference between "Obstruction of Justice" and "Obstruction of Congress".

There is no Constitutional requirement that the Senate wait for formal transmittal from the House. Once the House has voted, the Senate can begin the trial whenever it pleases: Each chamber makes its own rules, and those cannot be reviewed by an court.

Aren't you then suggesting that Nancy Pelosi can decide on her own whether or not to impeach a President?
If the House has no rule regarding how an impeachment shall be conducted, then Trump HAS BEEN IMPEACHED; that is, two articles of impeachment have been approved by a majority of the House. Nancy only gets one vote which counts toward the necessary majority.
If there is a rule regarding impeachments, then the rule, I think, would have to conclude with a majority vote by the House approving the set of articles of impeachment along with an order to deliver them to the Senate. Until that vote, there has not been an impeachment. "Impeachment" is a term used in the Constitution and its accomplishment by the House OBLIGATES the Senate to act. If there is no obligation for the Senate to act then there has not been an impeachment.
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.
The Constitution does NOT say the Senate only tries the impeachments sent to them.

McConnell can push through changes to the Senate rules whereby the Senate does not have to wait for the articles to be presented and depriving Pelosi of the right to pick the managers. McConnell could pick the managers himself.

Well, guess what, we found it again in the body of one Nancy Pelosi.
Trying to parse their lies is a full-time job. Trump has shown us that we can ignore their lying lies.
If they don’t go through the formal process of informing anybody than it didn’t happen.
With all due respect, seems to me Trump does not ignore the lies...He addresses them directly and punches back directly...punches back hard!
