I still hold the opinion that Sessions was a placeholder. He was AG until Trump could put Barr in position. Barr would never have gotten confirmed while Bush41 was alive. CIA has the files.

Bush41 croaks, Sessions resigns and Barr is AG. All happened within, what a month? The speed is a marker for me, knowing how slow gummint is to act.

Barr can now chase down the rogue actors for the “new order” without looking over his shoulder. Barr has performed and produced. I like him...he fights.

But, what could Bush41 have done to Barr? Did he have something in his pocket or, maybe, just enough to “create” bad news?

Barr, having been in the swamp and, in his previous service, never having any action of anything bad to say about the swampies kinda crawled back into my head.

Never forget that Bush 41 was the director of the C_A before he became Vice President. He had skeletons in closets everywhere including his own. Information gathering is the C_A forte.

He could get people offed. He could destroy. He didn’t get crossed (Period). That is why I couldn’t vote for him back then.

Barr-don’t know the answer to your question, but IIRC, it was Barr who suggested that a bunch of Iran Contra people get pardoned almost before anyone could make hay out of it.
