So many people on the right are up in arms about this as an attack on Barron Trump.
IMO it is not. It’s not even an attack on POTUS or FLOTUS for the name they gave to their son. It’s Karlan’s attempt to imply that Trump thinks he is a monarch.
I completely disagree with Karlan, but I have no problem with the statement itself. (Other than it seems like it was a well-rehearsed but very lame line.)
When the conservatives go nuts and say she was attacking Barron, I think it makes us look foolish.
I do not like Karlan at all. I think she’s full of crap. But I think we should not behave like the libs and throw logic out the window in order to attack someone we don’t like. There are plenty of legitimate things we can criticize her for.
It makes me wonder if this is a test to see how many of us can think for ourselves vs. how many of us will jump on the bandwagon as long as it’s OUR bandwagon. (Q, is that you checking on us? How many of us are thinking for ourselves? Enough to move forward with the plan? ;-) )

When Our President was Candidate Trump he stated many times: ‘I know people that you wouldn’t let out the door with let alone eat dinner with’, he wasn’t kidding, he meant ever word he said...these types of people hold things very tight to their vests, they know everything that you could not image they would know and you say or do something, you are history in their world and by the time you land where ever that may be, your world will never look or feel the same, I have personally seen this, been smart enough to never have it happen, but those people now are not good enough to pick up trash in the gutters of America...

I agree that it is an attack on Trump accusing him of acting like a monarch (along with the other puke that she said) but dragging in his son’s name is a conscious personal attack against Barron Trump. She could have made her lame lying fake point without dragging a child into the mix.

Re-read my post, please. My point was, two JOKES (one made by Trump at a rally which morphed into an article of impeachment, one made by the sophomoric professor about Trump's monarchy) are now in the record. I am not "up in arms" about any attack, just observing that the whole thing is a series of bad jokes with no punchline.....except punching the ticket for Trump in November.

Sorry. I think it was a cheap shot, and just another example of democRATS willingness to denigrate or use anyone and anything to tear down POTUS and USA. Her comment had no place in an impeachment hearing.
What is even more important than what others, you, and I feel or think about it, is how does Barron feel about it? His Mom gave a good clue in her response. I doubt it gave Barron a warm fuzzy feeling. Children should not be used in this manner. That’s MY take—no band wagon—that’s an overreaction too.

I have to disagree with this. While you are correct in what Karlan said was true, it was the context in which she used it was terrible and beyond stupid. Leave the kids out of it, no matter what you are trying to prove. Can you imagine if a Repub did this to Bummer's kids and the outrage from the media and whole DS apparatus? I would even agree in that to leave the kids out of it.
All: One other observation is these darn derps have absolutely no empathy towards children. I've even noticed that with some of the FR disrupters here too. It's like they are conditioned there is very little value in the children. People involved in child abuse and trafficking can probably do this because they have also been conditioned to have no empathy towards children as well. These people ARE sick!

You make a good point, generally. It wasn’t a direct attack on Barron, but it was totally inappropriate to drag him into this cluster fluck hot mess, and she should know better than to use his name to take a cheap shot at his father.
She is mentally ill (in my opinion). That she thinks this kind of remark would influence us to support impeachment issue shows at very poor judgment, if not a lack of critical thinking skills.
I would hate to have her as a lawyer, or as a professor. Stanford Law School must be embarrassed and worried about heir reputation.
