CNN reports that an FBI attorney tampered with documents related to the Carter Page application. How much does it matter? Is this the tip of a scandalous iceberg? Or is it a signal that Inspector General Michael Horowitzs much anticipated report on investigative irregularities in the Trump-Russia probe will be much ado about nothing much?
A low-ranking FBI lawyer altered a document that was somehow related to the Obama Justice Departments application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) for a national-security surveillance warrant. The application, approved by the FISC in October 2016, targeted former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page an American citizen, former naval intelligence officer, and apparent FBI cooperating witness as a clandestine agent of Russia. Apparently, the document tampering made at least one of the applications factual assertions seem more damning than it actually was.
The FBI attorney, who has not been identified, is also said to have falsified an email in an effort to provide back-up support for the fabricated claim. The lawyer, who was reportedly pushed out of the Bureau when the tampering incident came to light, was interviewed in Horowitzs inquiry and is said to be a subject of the related criminal investigation being conducted by Connecticut U.S. attorney John Durham.

Low level employees do not have this power.
RICO.
No one has had a first glimpse into this.
Those that claim to know are just spinning.
They are rehashing their old stories from a few months ago. To spot the enemy media just look for the same story being broadcast from source to source. A large number of stories that get posted on this forum that is allegedly “conservative” are part of the DS propaganda machine.
Again, dont get your hopes up.
Horowitz is another swamp creature.
This report will point to a bunch of low level nobodies who already have their payoffs lined up (jobs, book deals) after taking one for the team.
Horowitz wont touch the Comeys, Sroktcks, Pages, McCabes, etc.
Hell, in the past they worked together, dined together, partied together, went to schools together - they aint gonna turn on each other now.
Could someone explain the Italy connection to this investigation?
Correct. The IG FISA Abuse Report is over 500 pages and there’s no way one low FBI worker is the only one with criminal referrals. This is just the media attempting to do preemptive damage control.
And none of his bosses caught this, for how many years?
Sounds like an impeachment of the FBI/DOJ higher-ups than anything else. I wonder if this "low-level" person has been offered a generous retirement package to keep silent. That or a one way ride to Ft. Marcy Park...
Read about Professor Joseph Mifsud. Do a search and you should get lots of info.
If: Nothingburger
Then: 100% proof that the swamp rules.
Period.
Only those who are involved in Principal Review have seen the report, and they only get to see the section that pertains to them, only in a SCIF, and only after signing a non-disclosure agreement.
Leakers would be instantly identifiable and subject to criminal penalties.
Moreover, since when does anyone with a brain believe CNN?
And what past IG report gave you confidence that those responsible
would be held accountable?
Hint... None.
“Leakers would be instantly identifiable and subject to criminal penalties.”
Bingo you are 100% right on target!! Your excellent post ends the debate!! >:-)
The “low-level employee worked under Strzok. Somebody else printed his name. But how did CNN have this? Yes, sounds like damage control. Suicide watch on the “low’level” guy.
That to me speaks volumes and suggests to me that SpyGate players have lawyered up big time and are being told to keep their mouths shut
Apparently those who were mentioned in the report have been shown portions of the report and allowed to respond.
You can be sure that if folks like James Comey, John Brennan and Peter Strzok, etc., were cleared or not mentioned in that report, they'd be all over TV high-fiving each other and proclaiming their virtue.
Horowitz's report is an opinion piece, supposedly based on facts.
He cannot indict anyone.
Those people you mentioned have to get by Barr and Durnam.
That is the real test. - Tom
Comey mccabe et al have copies none seem worried
Well, John Brennan has been a bit prolific with his dreadful tweets about Trump — veiled threats, I call them. The arrogance is stunning.
