Brief synopsis:
Joe Rogan and Paul Stamets discus the use of Psilocybin and even Lion Main for various health and psychological reasons.
PTSD Clinical Studies
3 different groups have sat down with FDA scientists.... There has been a new turnover within the FDA and these scientists at just pure science without politics. They want to help people and several of them have said that they have never seen with Psilocybin in particular, a safer drug with such a dramatic impact with so infrequency of use. Just 1 or 2 times.
John Hopkins study of Psilocybin has shown pretty incredible benefits and lots of people are starting to look to it for treatment for people with PTSD and addiction issues.
“It seems that I require less sleep now.”
Well that would be a very beneficial effect for me as I tend to suffer from hypersomulence. I’ll check the brand, thanks.
All in all seems similar to the Rx drug modafinil, which I have taken.
It has taken much longer for many people to get away from benzos without much pain or serious risks. I know of some who recently claimed to have prescriptions for several years.

Human traffickers use them for date rape to get more young women. Unmarked pills have been called Xanax (similar shape with scores) and were reported to have the same effects.
It’s time to stop it.
No. I got my degree from the same profs who were completely fooled by him so I felt their lasting bitterness. Anthropological research relies on evidence and truth. His was fiction. Not the same thing.
I enjoyed the books as well. Fiction or non, they were good books.

Not like something you take and want to keep on taking like drugs in general. More like visiting a museum.
True. Well said but didnt stop me from over abusing vast quantities of everything in my youth.
Found Doors of Perception by Huxley helpful saying basically the same as you. Castaneda though, wrongly glorified journeys that you didnt need to keep taking to achieve higher levels. Prayer or meditation are worthy alternates.
Its a more complicated world than most could imagine and each person has their curiosity and limits on how far they care to test themselves both physically, emotionally and mentally.
In the end I found I hated not being in control and that it wasnt about controlling the trip but avoiding the use / self abuse altogether.
I am convinced the use of psychedelics can have its beneficial uses for various types of chronic mental illness. A good look behind the curtain can have the ability to make you crave and work towards normalcy.
stop what?
Detoxing all benzos takes 2 to 5 days in regular heavy users and in a few cases it takes a few weeks.
Xanax can take a month or two, I know a psychiatrist who uses a file. first day, one scrape, second day two scrapes....
Stopping benzos is much the same as stopping alcohol.
I like ‘em sautéed in a red port sauce and generously ladled atop a nice filet mignon. Pair it with a hearty cab franc.
As per the video that I linked to, many are subtracting .01 mg each day in efforts to survive.

Many other addicts have moved into crime (human trafficking, for one), and many of the bars being pushed now are unmarked.

Many psychologists would like to believe that they know some of their clients well. Police and criminal associates of many of those clients see them quite differently.
drama.
In what way?
What benzo and what dosage? If thats too personal, I understand. Just curious since they are somewhat widely prescribed.
Why carbon monoxide ? Depressed breathing?
Fractured exhaust pipe, blowing hot gasses into the trunk, melting the wiring to the brake lights (which is how we caught it).
Fortunately I was in the habit of driving with the windows down...
Well that would do it. My mistake. I thought they (medication and carbon monoxide ) were relate.
To look at me then you would think I was in the pink of health...
Just happened to watch this podcast today. Never heard of Paul before, but this was truly a fascinating interview. This guy’s mind is incredible.
