Well, sorta. Cause he often says something like I need to ____________________. Can I borrow your (whatever tool).
I say yes, but only if you promise to put it back. He agrees, and then, sometimes he does put it back—usually announcing loudly and showing me that he is putting it back. LOL
Unfortunately, that doesn’t hold for all tools—especially garden tools. So I bought a new set last year—they all have yellow handles. I keep them in the greenhouse, and asked him not to use them. Sometimes he forgets.
LOL. Have bought scissors for every room in the house. His collecting 7 from his area is a riot. Sometimes all we can do with our loved ones is love them regardless. LOL.
Speaking of tools: Hired man & mother just moved out of my rental on this lot. Stole $200-300 worth of tools—about the only sentimental things left from Dad—including large bench grinder, electric chain saw, maybe my breadmaker + $5,000+ in unpaid rent & utilities. Sigh. Struggling to get to the “In all things give thanks” status on that score.
They are only things. I’m still thankful for a lot of wonderful friends. Thanks for your kind reply.
