Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran, is moving to rival CBS News. She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks. Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the networks main news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.
The 55-year-old Harvard and Columbia University graduate was with Fox News since its inception in 1996.
I have received great personal satisfaction from mentoring the next generation of reporters and producers and sharing my journalistic values that facts matter and enterprise reporting will always win the day, Herridge said in a statement.
Jay Wallace, president of Fox News Media, also lauded Herridge for her award-winning journalism.
As a founding employee, over the last 23 years, Catherine Herridge has been an asset to Fox News. From her breaking news headlines at the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to her reporting after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the investigation into Princess Dianas death, she has always been at the forefront of every beat she has covered, Wallace said in a statement. We are grateful for Catherines many contributions to the network, wish her continued success and were proud to honor her as she received the Tex McCrary Award for Journalism last week from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for her enterprise reporting at Fox News.

Two possibilities here.
The first is that CBS hired her to get control of her narrative to limit damage or to shut her up.
The second is that that the Spygate affair, the Trump Coup and a number of other suppressed Obama scandals are about to break big time in such a bad way that the media is going to have to do a lot of backtracking to restore credibility and public confidence in their reporting.
Or both.
Either way, CBS is probably trying to get ahead of what is coming and maybe even trying to make a smart business move.
Good chance there are going to be a good number of misinformed, misled and now disillusioned MSNBC and CNN viewers looking for a new place to call home.
Depressingly fewer than there should be, but enough to make it worth the effort to try to capture them.
One thing is almost certain, if things go the way they could, much of the media may have to recuse themselves from reporting because, by their exposed misconduct, they will have made themselves part of the story and potential witnesses ( if not targets) in criminal and civil investigations and law suits
From your key-pad.....
"John Gregory Myre is an American journalist and NPR's digital editor for international news. Previously, he was a foreign correspondent for The Associated Press and The New York Times for 20 years".
It's the old Swamp "different last names" trick. Greg Myre is Jennifer Griffin's husband.
Check his Twitter feed - I'll bet he's Resistance, bigtime.
Martha Raddatz has the same thing going. Her husband with a different last name, Tom Gjelten, is an NPR "reporter" who hates Trump and spews that hate on Twitter.
They let the biased tart Raddatz moderate a debate in 2016. She's a POS. Glad Trump made her cry when he won in 2016.
No apparent non compete issue. Which means someone bought her out of it, or she was released from it.
Unlike Shep... Hmmmmm
_______________
She was a favorite of my wife and me.
I wonder what was wrong ...... wonder if JUAN WILLIAMS asked if he could sniff the chair she sat on. That was part of his SEXUAL HARRASSMENT case with dozens of women at the Washington Post.
Great reporter. Hope CBS doesn’t treat her the same way they treated Sharyl Atkinson.
Did he kick Herridge out?
FOX SHOULD HAVE GIVEN MS. HERRIDGE A BIG RAISE AND SENT CHRIS WALLACE, JUAN WILLIAMS AND MARTHA MCCALLUM OVER TO CBS.
Wow. So disappointing.
No one has noted that Fox News has hired 2 new and good investigative reporters over the last 6 months: Sara Carter and John Solomon. I lament Fox not wanting to keep Catherine Herridge.
Well, that is one way to silence her. Bury her in a liberal organization where she is neutered. Not that I blame her. They must have bought her out for a high price.
You think that CBS is better than FNC?
Nope, CBS isn't "the light", she's selling out.
Why the hell did Fox News let Herridge get away?
OUCH .... She was good...
Me too, CBS has been as bad as MSNBC as far as their Trump haltered and constant negative fake news.
Might be a way to silence her.
They can assign her to irrelevant stories.
Great reporter. Great sources who trust her.
Has been with Fox since its inception.
Apparently Fox did not value her services.
Her contact expired in the summer.
The Murdoch brothers were too cheap
to pay her.
I totally agree.........she had sources built up that gave her the jump on some big stories.......way to go Faux!
I’d feel really good if they used John Solomon in her space.
As far as trust goes, working for Fox gave her a sense of trust. Working for CBS...I would think twice about her ability to be strong enough to keep that trust.
Or Sara Carter, but a guy would be nice to see.
I have no idea.
I suspect she applied for his job as head of the news department and is pissed not only about his being put in that position, but about the direction FN is headed.
I think she did a great job there and I knew when she talked, we were getting the straight stuff.
However, she talks through her teeth and I learned many years ago to be very careful with women who talk through their teeth.
They take no crap from anyone.
