Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran, is moving to rival CBS News. She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks. Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the networks main news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.
The 55-year-old Harvard and Columbia University graduate was with Fox News since its inception in 1996.
I have received great personal satisfaction from mentoring the next generation of reporters and producers and sharing my journalistic values that facts matter and enterprise reporting will always win the day, Herridge said in a statement.
Jay Wallace, president of Fox News Media, also lauded Herridge for her award-winning journalism.
As a founding employee, over the last 23 years, Catherine Herridge has been an asset to Fox News. From her breaking news headlines at the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to her reporting after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the investigation into Princess Dianas death, she has always been at the forefront of every beat she has covered, Wallace said in a statement. We are grateful for Catherines many contributions to the network, wish her continued success and were proud to honor her as she received the Tex McCrary Award for Journalism last week from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for her enterprise reporting at Fox News.

Just Damn! I have admired her work for a decade. She is really on the ball. One of the few true reporters still in existence.
She sued FNC at one time. Didn’t think she was being treated fairly. Jennifer Griffin is good and still at Fox.
Im sure that Fox could match their money, so is there something here that doesnt meet the eye?
Like Chris Wallace?
That was my first thought. But who knows.
I was thinking that CBS sees the train coming and want to have an actual reporter familiar with what’s been going on now for a number of years. None of the boot-lickers there currently even have a clue.
Could be wishful thinking, but being positive always gives you a better outlook :)
A new day is dawning. CBS is movie back to the middle.
She no doubt got a nice payday. Fox isn’t paying that kind of money........

Keeping her quiet, is my guess. Give her a fat paycheck and relegate her to puff pieces.
They will drag it out hoping Trump loses in 2020
Look how Jeffery Epstien has gone from the news..
Jennifer Griffen was too chummy with Shepherd Smith and perhaps like-minded.
I think you are correct. I think the commie propagandists are just going to pick off real reporters one at a time!
So she goes from dark to darker? No matter she’s a big loss to Fox. $$$ is my speculation for the move. Will go the way of Megan Kelly?
She’s said she felt she was held back by Fox because she wasn’t as hot as their other females.
Her career is winding down and she’s looking for one last big pay day.
Money Im assuming or they suppressed her stories
I think it is possible that she retired on the Job at CBS
I think CBS bought her to get rid of her on Fox.
Agree. She was one of the few straight shooters in media. That Jennifer Griffin on Fox just drips in condescension and hate for POTUS. I expect we’ll see a lot more of her now since they covered similar stories. This is a big loss and Fox will continue it’s leftward lean.
Fox screwed up letting her go...
I hope CBS gives her free rein.
Its only Lachlan
James is not involved with FNC anymore
For the dying, corporate, mainstream TV news media, all parts are interchangeable.
